Better for Sin City. A drop below 50% is possible.

Hopefully Sin City has more of a Constantine increase of around 40% then a Kill Bill one of around 25% today.

I doubt it. Constantine actually increased slightly on it's first Saturday indicating it was a more of a Saturday movie. Sin City followed more of a Kill Bill type pattern.

Sahara did better than I expected. Fever Pitch did what I was expecting. I knew it wouldn't hit number one. Sin City is holding up well, and The Ring Two is just falling like a rock.

Guys, I'd expect the best weekend multipliers since March 11th. NCAA and a number of things have come up every weekend since then to lower them, this is our first weekend, so a lot of drops might be softer then the friday #s would indicate, and I think Sahara will pull off 20 million with that figure and such older/younger appeal.

The multipliers will, indeed, be very good this weekend, except for Fever Pitch which is more of a Friday date movie.

I think we can now safely say that Paramount has finally recovered from the past 2 years.
I think now the jinx has moved to WB, which didn't have a number one movie since Ocean's Twelve, and all it's movies released this year either flopped or disappointed.

Hold on a second, Sahara isn't exactly setting the world on fire. Sure, it could make about $50-55M total, but that falls short of its lofty budget and will hardly single-handedly rescue Paramount.

I mean, Mean Girls made nearly $90M against a budget of $15M and that still didn't help them all that much.

Well, while some may call it a disappointment, Lemony Snicket actually made quite a sum at the box-office and grossed $197,371,024 worldwide so far.

You are right, Sahara isn't setting the world on fire, but it's definitely doing waaay better than some of us expected. I predicted 10.9 m for it in the derby, and i could never have imagined that it's gonna make about 20 m for the weekend. Coach Carter, Lemony Snicket and Spongebob all made decent amounts at the box office. With War Of The Worlds coming up, i see a very good year for Paramount. I also heard Sahara is a independent production, so Paramount is not going to lose money.

But if you look at WB at the same time, Alexander was one of the biggest bombs of all time, Ocean's twelve and Constantine disappointed ( at least domestically ), Miss Congenialty 2 and The Jacket bombed ( i was expecting at least 60 m and 20 m, respectively ). Racing Stripes is the only WB movie released in the last 6 months that made a decent amount.

WB can turn even the most promising films into duds or dissapointments. Almost every film on their slate has incredible potential and time and time again they manage to screw things up and disapoint.
