Million Dollar Baby was lower than I expected, but oh well.
The comedy genre will never improve as long as the sheep continue to desperately flock to the latest forgetable crap that the studio manipulates them to go see. Meet the Fockers is good and all, but not as good as the grosses suggest., but the audience is starving. Look for a future column on this subject. \:D/

I predict The Pacifier will have a lower total gross then Be Cool, especially since The Pacifer has direct competition next weekend (Robots) and Be Cool doesn't.
Considering Be Cool is a terrible piece of cinema I beg to differ with that comment

Im not surprised at the Jacket's number since it reminded me so much of Suspect Zero. Looks like Vin is written off yet since Pacifier is now a hit

THE JACKET

That's not what I am predicting now after the numbers are out. That's what I did predict for this weekend's new movies. I did those predictions last Sunday. If they were my predictions for this weekend then why would all of my Friday numbers be different than the ones that were announced?

Even with Robots starting based on what ive heard from people exiting compared to other similar movies Pacifier will only drop around 35-40% while as Be Cool is overly frontloaded and based on what ive heard from people coming out WOM will be bad and prob = a 50+% decrease...
but thats just what I think *shrug*...
thus Pacifier will in the long run make more than Be Cool...not to mention kill it in DvD sales

cool
The Pacifier - -30%-35% dont see Robots effecting this film much
Be Cool - -45%-50% expected harsh drop though I would like to see a drop under 40%

Exactly! I think the same thing. PACIFIER will drop 35-40% and BE COOL will definitely drop over 50%. I think it will be at least 55%.

Family movies get lots of kiddie dollars, but VD can safely be written off in the genre he tried to be a star in.

Should have caught The Jacket doing bad, since it's really more of a drama than a "horror" film.
The Pacifier did right what I expected and had originally predicted. Be Cool did slightly less, but it's still pretty good.
Man of the House is becoming Welcome to Mooseport, as its drops are nearely identical, with Man of the House earning a little more money.
Hitch seemed to be slightly hurt by Be Cool, otherwise it would have dropped under 35%.

BOM numbers are up. The Aviator and Sideways are both extremely low.

The Thursday-to-Friday increases are quite low in general. Maybe Saturday numbers will be better than usual.

Wow... Aviator's number is really really low. If that holds true, expect no more than a 2 million weekend (which would mean an almost 50% drop)...
Does anyone think Aviator might not reach 100 million?

It will definitely gross more than 2M this weekend. It can't have a lower multiplier than last weekend's since last Sunday was affected by Oscar. Right now $2.5M looks likely.
I don't see how it won't reach 100M. When a film is this close, it will get there, especially since The Aviator still has a few weeks of regular runs before going to the discount theaters.

Although too bad The Jacket tanked. Unless Killuminati also gets a zero on that one, I'm done for in Duels.

I have about a 77% with the estimates, so if you have like an 84% or higher, you'll most likely beat me in the duels, unless theres some big increases for holdovers today

I'm glad with the numbers for The Aviator, Sideways, M$B, Constantine, and DOAMBW. I predicted 2.5m, 2.3m, 9.25m, 5.9m, and 10.2m respectively.
The Pacifier is generally good for me. As for the Jacket, that one will kill my scores. I greatly underpredicted Be Cool in one game, I nailed it in a couple others, but I overestimated it in Duels.

Sideways hits dvd in 4 weeks. Though it's already incredibly profitable, I hope it can still rake in some $.

I doubt I have 84%. I went too high on Be Cool. (like 27m if I remember correctly). Also, I'm too high on Cursed and Man of the House.
I need to make a couple risky predictions to beat you. Turns out 30m+ on the Pacifier was the right call. 9.4m on The Jacket wasn't. Should of went on the low end. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.
Congrats. Unless by some miracle I win.

Very disappointing Friday increases for The Aviator and Sideways (althouggh somehow expected) and a slightly disappointing increase for Million Dollar Baby.
The Pacifier might very well cross $100 million in total, unless Robots hits it really hard.
The Jacket.... #-o
