Well let's hope people aren't all horrored out by the time The Amityville Horror Comes out in April??? :-k
I really hope that turns out good, now thats a movie that should be remade, especially since the original sucked and had ALOT of potential to be better.

You know?? I can understand teens in this day and age thinking that film sucked cause it didn't contain the Gore factor like alot of Horror movies do today, but again, back in the 70's, Horror movies were more about Psychological Horror more than the Gore factor.. Movies like BLACK CHRISTMAS or The EXORCIST relied more on Psychological Horror, the imagination, more than the Gore factor and times have changed.. I will say that I loved the original Amityville Horror because it did come across more as a Documentary type of film more than a Horror movie and that the house looked the way it was supposed to look, whereas the remake, the new house they've built looks radically different, much taller and more narrow looking which blows, even though they still have the trademark triangular eye windows..... However, if they stick to the Novel to the "T", unlike the original which strayed alot, then yeah, I will be a happy camper..

You talking about BOOGEYMAN??? :-k For some reason, it reminds me of what CANDYMAN looked like before it came out, the 1st one that is.. I don't know.. I yearn for the day when I used to get scared from a movie and since The Grudge is coming out in a couple of days, I'm gonna give that a shot since it appears to be doing incredibly well and still out in theatres which is Rare in this day and age for a horror movie to remain in theatres this long, especially this time of year.. This movie must really be something...

The movie absolutely doesnt do the book one bit of justice, thats why I didnt like it ( probably the most scared I ever was from reading a book ). Dont compare it to the Exorcist either, its not even in the same leauge. It was slow, boring, and stale.

Actually BKB, I didn't not like The Amittyville Horror because of the lack of gore, but rather the pacing was simply terrible. Much like The Grudge (which I also did not care for) it failed to offer any explanation and was quite confusing. The scene at the end where George Lutz falls into the "tar pit" was completely ridiculous.

Elektra opened in more than 3000 theaters yet it opened less than 13 million dollars. If I remember also Anacondas had 2500+ theaters but opened to less than Hero. Theaters wont mean much if the movie is crap

My prediction:

Opening: $23.9
Total: $60.0

People are talking about this at my school more than Hide and Seek and slightly more than White Noise. This is from the creators of the Grudge (at least that's what it advertises or implies) and the Grudge is like the best horror film ever made to them. (In general)

New Prediction:
Friday: $6.1 million
Saturday: $6.40 million (+5%)
Sunday: 2.56 (-60%)

Weekend Total: $15.06 million (PTA - $4,934)

I'm seen a shitload of underwhelming TV spots, but there's no buzz at all, a la Alone in the Dark. Also, it looks uncomfortably similar to Darkness Falls.

17/40.
