Post Re: Adele Returns
I don't tend to listen to the lyrics much either, it's usually about whether I enjoy a song's melody or the vocals on a song, and Adele just blows it out of the water with her vocals on... well, everything.

That being said, I did actually notice that the lyrics in "Hello" can be a bit awkward at times, making me go "Well that could have been written better". Then again, maybe I shouldn't be so fixated on things rhyming, because that's a rather simple view on things.

The single is amazing, which is no surprise. I have the album pre-ordered. I have missed Adele. Can't wait to have more music from her. Haven't been able to get Hello out of my head since listening to it. Granted, I prefer Someone Like You but this is still terrific and powerful. She has such an amazing voice.

I love Adele, but her song writing and the instrumentation behind it has not been the most stellar on a pretty regular basis; it's almost always been her voice that carries the songs. There's so many songs on 21 that only work (and work well) because Adele is singing them.

She has pulled one of my pop-music heroes, Damon Albarn, into a controversy.

The wrath of David is looming over Adele. She must be shitting herself.

So the reigning, defending undisputed music overlord, gave a peek performance of When We Were Young and utterly destroyed whatever hope the remaining basic bitches had.

It is EPIC from the preview. People who have listeded it are claiming will be Adele's signature song, above RITD and SLY.

my god we are not worthy

Her voice is just so powerful and always in control at the same time. She doesn't need to belt out all those high notes to show her talent, as her low and middle notes give one just as many goosebumps. I do tend to agree that this album is lacking an uptempo song like Rolling in the Deep or Rumor Has It, where Adele is at her best, and the tone could become a little repetitive after an entire album. Still, her voice is so intoxicating.

Meh, not a fan of this one. The "like a movie" lyrics are a bit too cliche for me.

R.I.P. Taylor Swift. Adele is/is going to destroy most records in existence.

I'm honestly shocked at how popular Adele is. She is literally 2x as big as Taylor Swift who is a perfect pop star. wtf

Adele's just... got a broader appeal than Taylor Swift does, based almost entirely on her ability as a vocalist.

Love it so far. Honestly think she's a better singer now than on 21.

Adele has always made great music, and only listened to a few singles of the new album but it's at least as good. Hello is of course great, but my favorite song at the moment is (also) When We Were Young.

According to my iPod, for me it's:

1. Hello (with an unfair advantage because it's been out longer)
2. Can't Let Go (Target Exlusive)
3. When We Were Young
4. Water Under The Bridge
5. Million Years Ago
6. Love In The Dark
7. All I Ask
8. Remedy
9. River Lea
10. Why Do You Love Me (Target Exclusive)
11. Lay Me Down (Target Exclusive)
12. Sweetest Devotion
13. Send My Love (To Your New Lover)

And no, we don't have Target over here.
