Is A Whole New World the only Disney song to reach #1? Adele needs to relinquish #1 so Bruno can join it.

Just looked it up and indeed, We Dont Talk About Bruno is only the second song to reach the top 2. Funny enough, A Whole New World actually knocked out Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" to get its #1 so the situations are comparable!

Until you take into account that Snow's 'Informer' is what knocked Aladdin and Jasmine out. I don't think we'll have anything like that incoming.

Is Bruno getting radio airplay? I thought it was almost impossible to get #1 without it as seen by Dance Monkey

Barely, but its streaming is so far above everything else. That's why Adele, Stay and Heat Waves stayed above it for the last three weeks, radio.

Why do people still listen to the radio when you can stream whatever you want, whenever you want?

Is the appeal in the lack of choice?

I'd say a lot of people either can't or don't know how to play Spotify in their car.

Streaming is used by music fans. Radio is for casual listeners.

Why is Heat Waves a hit, it has to be one of the most boring songs ever written.

Glad Bruno got #1. A Whole New World "only" got one week on top, so hopefully Bruno gets at least two (hopefully more).

Also, the Bard-tells-scary-stories-in-a-tavern-of-a-mysterious-fortune-teller-named-Bruno-who-you-should-avoid is cover AMAZING:
Spoiler: show

I was looking at Tik Tok videos for once and Bruno has to be one of the best fits ever for that format because you can make a video imitating any of the 6-7 different short sections. I wonder if they should start making pop songs with a structure like that because of Tik Tok influence.

Is "Do You Wanna Taste It?" HBO just said Peacemaker finale was their biggest one day audience so far, so you'd think that a bunch of people emulating the opening credits dance would be enough to propel that song up the billboard charts.

I just watched it and I'm disappointed it wasn't a Doctor of Thugonomics song

Not even High Hopes could get to #1. Would truly be an impressive accomplishment for Glass Animals if they pull it off. I can't even remember the last time an actual band had a #1 hit.

I mean, High Hopes had very strong competition from thank u next, Without Me, Happier, Sicko Mode, Sunflower. Heat Waves is only competing against songs that peaked months ago and simply fell faster on radio.

It is kinda that weird that 2022 has yet to produce a single notable pop hit.

The last band to hit #1 was ... Magic? In 2014? Seriously? How embarassing. And yes I am being rude by saying that.

We Are Young by fun was #1 in 2012. Still not really rock, but at least that song is good.

Maroon 5 Girls Like You, and the Coldplay/BTS thing

I feel like My Universe was more Chris Martin joining BTS than the other way around so I didn't count it. Same with Maroon 5. I'd count stuff from the Harder to Breathe era, but nothing after "Moves Like Jagger." It's just Adam Levine at this point.
