GNR has three great albums...... So your telling my that nirvana never listened to people like AC/DC, and even if nirvana wasn't influenced by AC/DC, AC/DC was popular enough to open the doors for people like GNR, and then later on Nirvana

Theres a ton of guitar bands many of them popular

AC/DC WEREN'T SOME SINGULAR DRIVING FORCE BEHIND ROCK N ROLL RESURGENCE

Cobain seems to be strongly influenced by The Beatles (his melodies)

AND NEIL YOUNG (his abrasive distorted guitar style)

AS MUCH AS HARD ROCK STUFF

which also played an influence

They basically were, actually, at least of good rock, until Metallica and GNR came along......

GnR totally brought back rock & roll. Nirvana in a way killed it. They made it so mainstream and just made the MTV world crazy about them. How can that be bringing back R&R?

Yea, but atleast somebody was listening to some kind of rock, even if I don't like the band. Isn't it better that people be listening to rock, instead of NOT listening to rock?

Would you rather people listening to crap and labeling rock with that crap? I'd much rather seen rock & roll take the backstage to stuff like Pop and so-on if great bands could continue to survive and strive.

Yea, but Nirvana helped those great bands survive and strive. Because people became fans of Nirvana, they eventually checked out other rock, such as GNR. We obviously both agree on Nirvana being overrated, but I think what they ended up doing was good for Rock

Not enough people entered the doorway to greater rock after listening to Nirvana, that is why Nirvana is so put so high upon the pedestial of rock.

True, but some did, and believe in effect, this is why Classic Rock has become popular again.

That or kids just hate rap... That's the main reason why I leaped into the classic rock scene instead of listening to stuff like rap and pop. First classic rock band I fell in love with is Rush and their greatness is in my heart.

actually fogot about system of a down...

System of a Down - Self titled
System of a Down - Toxicity

the third album was mediocre compared to the other two. Toxicity being my favorite because that is where they really shine and make some awesome music.

American Idiot is so-so but it's nothing to what they were able to do in the past. They just need to connect with their past to create something new and great. But 4 years to make AI, I just don't see it.
