Hate that. Or pretty much any pet name really. I have never really allowed anyone to call me by any such names. I tell people I don't like it, and sometimes they try anyway thinking I just need to get used to the idea. But then I just don't respond to whatever they are saying and pretend I don't know they were referring to me. Is that rude?

Also annoying, girls that think the world revolves around them. I guess anyone that acts like that, I just notice girls with that attitude more often.

Not rude at all. We have to get our point across somehow, and you've chosen a good one. I'd do exactly the same in your position. I don't dislike all pet names, especially when most of mine are complimentary and fun. The other day a girl at work called me the "No 1" best looking guy in the company. So I told my wife and now she calls me that. She also calls me "monkey". :|

Girls act like that more than guys. I also dislike that, but it's more than just a 'peeve', it's a serious relationship problem.

I don't mind some of them, I just don't like the usually ones. One that is unique to me would be alright. Just don't like all the ones you hear all the time such as honey, sweetie, baby, mushy crap like that. A lot of people call me Mandabear, which I don't mind.

Yeah, and when older people call me "love", I want to say "Fuck off, you're not my love. Stop being a leary weirdy".

My dad refers to strangers as "dear" in public, for instance the cashier at a grocery store. How annoying.

Yeah, old timers love using "dear".

People only ever laugh at things that would seem rare in their own lives. It happened. Live with it, there are good and better looking people out there. I fall into the latter.

But, anyway, it's a small company. I think she was trying to "pull" me. Until I told her I was married.

So you're both the No.1 at work, but who's No. 1 of KJ? :P

Hard to say. I haven't seen everyone's photo.

Of the photos in the photo thread, nobody is what I'd call "attractive". But not all members have posted.

Hmmm, whatever happened to Snrub? He posted pictures at one time, and was actually very attractive.

Personally, I don't think I'm all that attractive in looks. My general attitude and persona is far more attractive. But if someone thinks I am "No 1" in the company, who am I to disagree? I'll take the compliment and promote it a bit. :D

That attitude right there is unattractive!

Question. Are you ever just being funny, or are you dead serious all the time and your general attitude is just hilarious?

My comedy is deadpan and sarcasm. Make of that what you will. ;)

I find American restaurants calling fries "pomme frites" to be annoyingly pompous.

That's a British thing, right?

Well it's certainly not German. No idea really. I'd imagine it's an English-speaking country thing.

I keep hearing people adressing other people with "love" in many British TV series, films or mini-series. Never heard that in any American film or TV show or during my several actual visits of the US. Thus my question.
