A recent one for me has been people constantly being on their phones at like say a dinner. Example being a couple weeks ago I went to a birthday dinner for one of my friends. I only knew a couple people there so I thought I could maybe meet some new people, nope these chicks were glued to their phones.

I don't understand some of my generation.

Yup. I'm on my phone a lot, I admit, but when I'm out to dinner/drinks, I really try to stay off my phone.

People being glued to their phones, iPads, laptops etc. is another one of mine too. Or listening to music when you're out, everybody seems to be doing that now too. This entire anti-social thing gets on my nerves.

People licking their finger tip when turning a page of a book. Not very hygienic.

How about co-workers that constantly have ear phones in? For one, it's definitely a safety hazard in my line of work. Two, they spend more time searching for what song they want to play than working. Three it just gets really annoying when you're trying to talk to them and realize they haven't heard a word you said. How rude!

r another music related one. I find it really rude to be in a vehicle with someone who insists on having the radio blaring. Especially when it's a type of music you don't even like. And then you can get an important phone call and they don't have the sense to turn the radio down. Jackasses!

Which makes me think of another one. When you get a phone call that is important and you ask the people around you to be quiet and instead they seem to get louder just to be an ass. :disgust:

Now I'm getting the feeling that all the people I have to deal with on a daily basis are just jerks in general.

Ugh, now I can't stop thinking of things that annoy me. My biggest one is people that make way too much noise when they eat, or can't keep their mouth closed when they chew. My dad unfortunately is one of the worst. I got to the point where I would not eat in the same room as him, which always pissed him off. I didn't have an appetite if I was around him while he was eating.

Huh?

Depends on your field, I guess. I need my earphones to be productive. Usually I listen to podcasts or pre-built playlists on Spotify. I also have a 'shove and forget' playlist on Spotify that includes full albums, too, so sometimes I just listen to that...

When I really want quiet, I put my Bose QC15's over my Etymotic HF5's. Pure silence.

I agree with you on mouth chewing. Ugh. 'CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP'

We do a lot of work on scaffolding and things like that. Had a situation where some dummy was moving the scaffolding not realizing there was something on it at the time. The person on it was yelling at them to stop but they couldn't hear because they had music blaring in their ears. And I just don't see how you can be productive doing any sort of demolition with wires going to your ears. Much like I can't work with my hair down because it is long and gets in the way.

We did have a guy play music on his phone, and he duct taped his phone to his hat to avoid having the earphones in his ears.

Now that David is here, it reminds me of how much i hate hipsters' stuck up attitude. Or anyone for that matter.

The whole "Im better than anyone" is such a turn off.

I will never understand how I came to be characterized as a contrarian or, stranger still, a hipster. It is not true. I reject more the contrarian title. I have my system of opinions and preferences same as anyone, but they are born of myself, not of any desire to stand opposite anyone else or distinguish myself for an empty delight. I am simply being who I am, lol. trixster interprets my actions and words as a desperate, failed bid to be "hip," but he is wrong.
