Re: This or That thread (Poll #10)
My vote is for Sandler as I was born at perfect time for him and like most of them in his prime including the non Gilmore/Madison/Waterboys like Little Nicky, Mr Deeds, etc. he could be non wacky enough to be romantic lead like Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, actually one day I think I should watch all the ones I started skipping past a certain point.
My first instinct was to put Carrey’s comedy style last for being too much, but I think he deserves some credit for genuinely fantastic movies like Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine.
Ferrell’s run of lead movies is probably the worst to me but his supporting actor work is probably best of the three.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #10)
Right now I appreciate Sandler the most because of his roles in Uncut Gems and Hustle, but all time it's Carrey because he was just so great in the 90's so I voted him, and I agree that Ferrell’s done the best supporting work.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #10)
The Cable Guy is better than anything the others have done, then add in Liar Liar, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, When Nature Calls, The Mask, Dumb & Dumber, Bruce Almighty, Lemony Snicket's, Me Myself and Irene, A Christmas Carol, and Batman Forever and it's an easy easy easy choice. Not to mention that Carrey is a cool, down-to-earth guy and seems to have his feet firmly on the ground and knows what's important.
Sandler has always been too SNL for my liking. Ferrell is great, he's just not had as much of an impression on me since I grew up with Carrey. It's unfortunate that probbaly Ferrell's most memorable moment is in Wedding Crashers in a supporting role.

100% Especially about The Cable Guy being the best. Sad that his best was one of his weakest performers. Regarding Ferrell - Elf and Step Brothers are both super memorable IMO.

Carrey for me too. Perhaps because he made it big when I was a teen so timing was right but he also sort of paved the way for the other two to have their own dominant "King of Comedy" periods.

Don’t know if everyone has been to those, but maybe when I run out of ideas.

I haven’t drank much in the last decade but I was never anywhere close to a beer guy between the taste and making your stomach too full, I used to mix vodka with things or before that in college if I just wanted to get drunk immediately just take it straight from the bottle.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #11)
IPA / Seasonal Beer > Liquor > Budweiser, Miller, Coors, etc...
Favorite beers:
1) Southern Tier - Pump King 2) Mad Tree - Phantom Forest 3) Revolution - Anti-Hero (or Hazy Hero) 4) Fat Heads - Groovy Juice 5) Great Lakes - Christmas Ale 6) Masthead - Hazy Headlines (or Haunted Hayride in Spooky Season) 7) Sloop - Juicebomb 8) Rhinegeist - Truth 9) Bells - Two-Hearted 10) The Brew Kettle - White Rajah
Most of these are midwest breweries.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #11)
similar to what Flav said, craft beers are my top choice above liquor drinks (which I also enjoy a wide variety of), then dead last is shitty American piss beer.
I used to be all in on IPAs but generally avoid them now, many of them give me almost an instant headache. I’m here for Pilsners, Lagers, Kolsch, sometimes a Pale Ale or Wheat or something seasonal.
On the liquor side, love me a Mule (Moscow (vodka) or Kentucky (bourbon)), Margarita are great in summer months.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #12)
Vote: Gabriel - his songs resonate more emotionally while Collins is a little too cute and trying a little too hard to be radio accessible with the Sussidio type songs, albeit In the Air Tonight is perfect and Against All Odds is a nice ballad. I’ve gotten into a few Gabriel songs in recent years like Don’t Give Up and Blood of Eden I didn’t know about as much along with the iconic ones like Solsbury Hill, In Your Eyes and Big Time.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #12)
Easily Phil Collins. I bought his greatest hits album about 20 years ago and I was hooked. Always on repeat.
I don't know anything about Peter Gabriel.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #12)
I might give a slight edge to Gabriel in their solo careers, but I like the Phil years of Genesis way more than the Pete years. So I voted for Collins. Invisible Touch is The Jam.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #12)
this is just about as impossible as the Choose: Mom or Dad question for me.
Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel? I adore both, in equal but different measures. cannot choose.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #13)
I give South Park the slight edge here due to the incredible Bigger, Longer and Uncut, but since it doesn’t count there I might put Family Guy higher on my list in the TV forum (shameless plug). Team Simpsons last.

Re: This or That thread (Poll #13)
The Simpsons forever have my heart.
I used to think it was all about Seasons 3-8 (still a phenomenal streak of gold), but have been watching some recent episodes (from Seasons 34-35!) and there’s still some that are great.
