What's your take on the suspension he should get?

I can see the point where comparing it with domestic violence related suspensions got only 6 games, Watson's was much more public, more predatorial and affecting more people so I don't think it should be just compared to that either. I can't believe from what I read how Calvin Ridley gets a season ban for some betting offences and then Watson getting away with less.

No suspension.

No criminal charges. No civil charges (all settled out of court). And he's already been dropped by Nike and Beats. He's been punished enough.

As I don't follow American Football, I know nothing about it apart from what I read on Wikipedia. But maybe that makes me more impartial than most.

I could see the fairness of that pov and no suspension too, but only because he's already been sidelined for a whole season while the investigation was going on in the background and consider that as part of the punishment served.

Idk, I guess 6 games is reasonable. I can see stuffp's argument that the previous season should be relevant.

The judge ruled 6 game suspension based on precedent, NFL should stick to that rather than appeal so that Goodell can unilaterally decide the punishment arbitrarily.

In football, I feel like we've let worse slide. Like every single year. Does he deserve to be suspended for the entire season though? Probably. But why go through the whole charade of having independent investigators/judges if they were just going to ignore their ruling?

I think this move is to punish the Browns as much as it is to punish Watson. Potential sexual assault, without any video evidence, is nothing to NFL owners, whom Goodell serves. But giving a player a Fully Guaranteed contract? Now every star player will expect their money to be fully guaranteed and these billionaires will have made slightly less profit than they would have otherwise. That's too far dammit!!! They'll throw the axe down and make sure the Browns suffer the consequences!
