Re: PGA Tour 2013 Season
Looks like the 14-year-old won't make the cut this weekend but even to shoot as he did at his age there is mighty impressive.
Nice to see Fowler have a strong score yesterday. Hopefulyl he can remain in contention as well as Dustin Johnson and Woods.
As long as nobody is at -7 or better, he makes it.
But still very impressive to even be that close to the weekend.

Tiger hitting the flagstick on #15 and thus getting a water hazard may have been one of the most unfair flagstick situations I've ever seen in golf.

Wait so Tiger got another 2-shot penalty because of his ball drop on #15? Man fuck flagsticks.

It was not unfair, it was unlucky.
Personally, it was the high point of my afternoon yesterday!

He should have been disqualified for signing an incorrect scorecard, but that rule was specially waived by the tournament committee just for their precious Cheetah. I guess there are two sets of rules now - - one for the guy who sells commercial time and one for the rest of the world's golfers.

Re: PGA Tour 2013 Season
But here is the thing, he didn't sign an incorrect scorecard because the rules officials noticed nothing wrong at time of signing so he did nothing wrong there.
Plus the "as close as possible" interpretation is questionable seeing as 2 yards is within two club lengths which is acceptable for a drop and thus Tiger's comments shouldn't be punishable. Plus, supposedly going by the footage he was about a yard away from his original spot which is perfectly alright by the rules.
The true person at fault here is the TV couch potato viewer who always causes these ridiculous events to happen. Penalties should never be assessed the day AFTER a round.

Other professional golfers are now calling for Cheetah to voluntarily disqualify himself for the good of the game.
(Anybody who believes that Cheetah doesn't know the rules of golf is very naive - - he simply tried to get away with cheating and got caught.)

I mean I don't think he did, nor did any of the rules officials during actual play or immediately after play.

Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot....
Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it's at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.
Nick Faldo went on the Golf Channel and said Tiger disqualifying himself would be "the manly thing to do." He added, "He should really sit down and think about this and the mark this will leave on his career, his legacy, everything."
The Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee said, "The right thing to do here for Tiger and the game is for Tiger to disqualify himself."
Golfer Shane Lowry said, "This is a joke. In my opinion anyone else would have been DQ'd. When you sign for the wrong score that's what's supposed to happen."
Golf bloggers and writers are similarly stunned that he was only given a 2-stroke penalty.
This is in stark contrast to fans and golf non-diehards, who just want to watch Tiger Woods play golf this weekend and aren't all that invested in the "integrity of the game."
