The Pittsburgh Pirates haven't had a winning season since 1992....is this finally their year? At time of post they are 6 games above .500 (50-44) |

No chance. Come trade deadline, they will ship off anyone in their starting line-up worth trading like they've done the past few years. |

I say yes. I have been saying this in the forum, the Pirates have the most underrated pitching staff in the league. And they even have a lights out closer in Hannerhan (who I think is the best since Lidge of 2008). Another important factor is that they are 24-13 against their own division (with winning records against every team except Milwalkee). Not to mention, they are in first place. And with more fan support based on increased attendance, this will inspire the Pirates to play better. Although the biggest reason they are doing better is because of Clint Hurdle. He could be a lock to win Manager of the Year if they keep up this pace. They will be dancing in the streets in Pittsburgh after win 82, and they have a shot to win their division too with the other teams in the Central faltering. |

Why is MLB stupid & not using instant replay in cases like that? It doesn't take long to look at a video & make the correct call. Fucking retarded! |

Obviously. But if that 80-82 team wins ONE more game... say a 163rd game, are they at .500? |

There is no 163rd game Chip. If an 80-82 team had won one more game that year, they would have finished 81-81 rather than 80-82. |
