Heat gave everything they had in Game 5. I think it would have gone 7 if not for the injuries to Bam and Dragic. The best team won in the end though, and every round had some wildly entertaining games, so I’d say the bubble was a massive success.

We get surprising trades every offseason, but Harden to Brooklyn has to be one of the all-timers. Not a good time to be a Houston sports fan...

I think the Bucks just made one of the worst trades of all time. 3 1st round picks, 2 pick swaps, just to have Holiday instead of Bledsoe?

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: 2020 Finals - Harden going to Brooklyn???

I was thinking the same, it just looks like too much, those 1st round picks are just a total sacrifice of the future and time will tell how much it might hurt them, but Holiday is an upgrade, the better playmaker, defender and more clutch. He might improve the position just 5% statistically, but at the level where the Bucks are, that could be all they need to win a title this season and really to keeping Giannis. It's a great trade it they win it/ Giannis stays, it's a terrible one if they don't/ he doesn't.
Looking at those picks again though, I do imagine, couldn't they maybe not just get Harden instead.

Klay Thompson torn achilles

Warriors dynasty is over unless Wiseman is a superstar. They now have 2 of the worst contracts in the league in Thompson and Wiggins and Green's could get bad soon too. They got too sentimental about Curry/Klay/Green and paid Klay and Green big time despite Klay having torn ACL at the time and Green was showing signs of being the type of player who's washed by 30.

And it gets worse since the Bagdonovic trade has own up. New Orleans could end up with more than one top 3 pick out of this.

Gallinari gets three years $61M.

Joe Harris gets four years $75M.

Davis Bertans got 5 years $80M.

Jeremih Grant gets 3 years $60M.

Jordan Clarkson gets 4 years $61M.

Massive deals for role players in a year where people supposedly won’t make any money. :hahaha:

That's not even all of them

Marcus Morris 4 years 64 million, yikes
Mason Plumlee 3 years 25 million
DJ Augustin 3 years 21 million
Derrick Favors 3 years, 30 million

Meanwhile Lakers get a steal in Harrell for 2 years 19 million and also signed Wes Matthews

I just saw the fight on youtube and damn was Robinson out of it, that's a great comparison I didn't think of.

Wall and Cousins finally get to play together again, unfortunately it's the sad version... or is it?

Durant and Kyrie look good and Nets have a deep team.

Harden to Toronto? Unless Simmons is on the the table, can anyone beat Siakam + multiple 1sts?

Harden to the Nets officially done.

Though they are still lacking a big 3 since Kyrie is having another mental breakdown.

The Wizards are pacing 3-5 games behind every one else due to COVID.

Looking forward o March Madness getting underway

Without fans in the bubble I expect teams like Illinois and Alabama to get to the final four this year.

I am also very happy that March Madness is back and can be enjoyed. The NCAA bracket itself will be handled a little bit differently because the entire tournament is in Indiana. The top four seeds will be handled the same and so will the First Four. The changes will come in how the rest of the bracket is completed. Teams will be placed in the bracket based on rankings without the usual considerations for geography. This is called using the "S-curve" to fill the bracket. And it should be very interesting.

I want to see Lakers v Clippers round one. Make it happen NBA gods.

Rooting for the Suns to win the title. Denver is the most likeable team outside of Cleveland, but the Murray injury will just be too much for them to overcome. It'd be nice to see Chris Paul make it to at least one championship, and the Suns fans deserve it after somehow making zero finals during the Nash era.

Worst case scenario is Brooklyn winning. We'd never see the end of these mercernary teams.

Lakers decide to ride the Westbrook train. Will it work, probably not, but it will be entertaining.

Scottie Barnes over Jalen Suggs :pinch:

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: Evan Mobley Era begins

Very pleased with Evan Mobley as the Cavs pick. Seems like he would be a #1 most years. Bad teams like the Cavs shouldn’t worry too much about fit, but he slots in so well next to Allen, Okoro and the two guards … atleast on paper.

I'm hoping the Ball brothers take a big leap forward (and LiAngelo gets a legitimate shot in the NBA!).

Warriors look like they could be good this year even if Klay doesn't give them much, they picked up some nice role players and were once again passing and shooting at a high level
