Louis Williams gets busted at a strip club with Jack Harlow. But I’m sure he’s the only one not following the rules of the bubble!

LeBron is gonna have all of these guys killed. He’s getting title number four whatever the cost.

Portland is on fire. I think it will be a classic LeBron series though, where the Blazers win three games by 15+ but still somehow lose the series. I'm still wondering how he got out of that Indiana series from 2018 and I was there every game.

Title pick - Clippers over Celtics. That's a really boring finals, Clips/Raptors or Lakers/Bucks would be the most fun, but these trying circumstances will probably benefit Boston as they always do in 21st century sports.

The bubble will obviously help the Clips most of all in their inevitable series with the LeBron. A normal western conference finals would have been seven straight home games for the Lakers. Playing with no fans is what the Clippers do best.

I can’t wait until the NBA playoffs begin in earnest today. The NBA has done a great job with the zoom audience, piping in crowd noise, camera angles and the like. Competition has been high as well (though defense is lacking in a lot of games).

The winner of this season deserves no asterisk.

Excellent start to the playoffs. Mitchell goes for 57 but it isn’t enough as Jamal Murray buries the Jazz with 10 points in Overtime.

Bucks have decided to boycott todays game. I imagine the other teams will do the same so no basketball today.

Hopefully boycotts are just for a few days, and season does not get cancelled.

Lakers and clippers voting to strike to end the season, and it could have huge non-NBA implications if it happens.

Back in March, US did not take COVID-19 too seriously yet, and then the NBA suspending its season started a chain reaction of shut downs Likewise, NBA taking a strike could start a movement to convince many working Americans supportive of BLM to also strike from their work too.

With so many unemployed, there will likely also be many people willing to work even on a temporary basis to do the striker’s job for cheaper. businesses will need to tread carefully, because if they are not supportive of the strikers enough and replace them with cheaper new hires who won’t unreliably refuse to work each them there’s a new police shooting, their companies could become targets of boycott or vandalism. And coworkers who choose not to strike could be violently targeted too,

I'm glad the playoffs aren't cancelled, but realistically, how long do we have until there is another video of the police murdering someone? A week?

Come on coppers, you can do it. Just hold off on killing unarmed people for a month or so. Is that so much to ask?

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: 2019/2020 - Poppin the Bubble

I'm glad they're not cancelling the season but the woke will destroy the NBA if they continue to align with them.

For any company whether it's sports or elsewhere, you should never bow to the mob because their demands are a never ending black hole. As soon as you appease them, they ask for you to become more woke. There will never be an end point. One day it's BLM on the jerseys, the next day it's teams being under attack for having white GMs and coaches and the Warriors changing their name, the next it's the league becoming all-black. The NBA already alienated half of America in the bubble with the BLM on the courts and jerseys, and the response was still the players boycotting it until they did more.

What will likely save them is when BLM loses influence in society by next season.

The players see themselves as part of the mob, not bowing to it.

If BLM offends someone then they probably weren’t enjoying the NBA anyways lol. “Go Korver!!!!” :funny:

Boston does have a habit of winning titles after national catastrophes.

Pats win after 9/11

Celtics win after 08 economic recession

Sox win after Boston Marathon Bombing

Pats win after Trump is elected president.

Conspiracy????

Well Giannis is overrated on offense. He basically just runs and dunks on people.

Another massive upset as Denver comes back from down 3-1 to shock the Clippers, denying TNT their LA v LA series. Love it.

That was fun. Jokic and Murray both kicked their ass. RIP LA vs LA semifinal.

Kawhi 6-22  I would say he can come back to Toronto next year, but that's Giannis' money

Was so looking forward to an la-la wcf instead. Will Lakers be scared when they are inevitably up 3-1 over Denver?

Hoping for LA-Miami Finals over yet another LA-Boston rematch, Miami has been so fun to watch, Wish wade had delayed his retirement a year to be part of the ride, especially since you know he played a big part in Butler coming to Miami.

The Nuggets and the East teams have a chance to beat the Lakers. A lineup like Rondo, Caruso, Lebron, Davis, Howard in good on defense but has no shooting. They need more from Danny Green.

Bummer about the Nuggets. The Heat are fun to root for though. And at worst LeBron wins another title. I hate the Lakers but that makes it a little more tolerable.

Hoping for a Heat upset, but the Lakers win/dedication to Kobe seems inevitable.

Disappointingly dull game 6.

Hoping for no riots and arson in LA tonight, which happened last time Lakers won the championship.
