It is a great month, but its gotta be October. NFL and BCS in full swing, MLB playoffs...dont get any better.

This year it's either a tossup between April or November. I say this year because November now has games 4-7 of the World Series. Plus November means the beginning of the NBA season, the NHL is in full swing, teams in the NFL are vying for playoff spots and NCAA Basketball and Football is in full swing. If April had football (the draft doesn't interest me one bit) it'd be the greatest month ever.

NFL regular season starts
College Football regular season is in play
MLB regular season winding down with usually some great races > and most times better than the playoffs
US Open - the last could of rounds

Lack of NHL or NBA is a major blow.


minor blow as those are considered by most the 3/4 ranked sports....

so quality over quantity ( and yes April could be tied with this )

*For Baseball, Sept could be the best month with the pennant races
*For Football, the races are usually over at the end, so maybe the first month when everyone is fresh and most people love, might be the second best with the playoffs being first.
*Tennis, Great but maybe second to wimbleton
*and college football and Nascar plus anything else....

I agree, October does it for me in terms of sports. I like Baseball at the end better than at the beginning of the season.

It depends on the year. If it's World Cup year, it's definitely July (or whichever summer month it is held on). Similarly for Olympics, although I'm just a slightly more detached there.

IMO. Still say that usally September baseball is better with pennant races than the playoffs in October.
