Phil is completely dominating. Had a few bad chips here and there, but that's about it.

Tiger is playing extremely well, but I've never seen so many JUST missed putts/chips

Phil got lucky. His drives were all over the place at times. The big amount of chip-ins won him the tournament. He won't have that every week

Immediately following yesterday's Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, Commissioner Tim Fincham announced that the PGA Tour of America was officially partnering with WWE Sports Entertainment LLC in a new umbrella organiztion to be known as the Fixed Outcome Media Sports Products Association (or FOMSPA). Fincham said, "With this economic crisis, we can no longer depend on tournaments which depend on player skill to determine the outcome. We will choose our most marketable player who generates the highest TV ratings and sponsorship financing and have him win most weeks. As everyone knows this is our own Eldick Woods". When asked if fans will miss the real competition experienced before fixed outcomes were implemented, Fincham replied. "Modern golf fans are easily swayed by hype - - we own them!"

Falling apart when you play someone is completely possible bradley. I play very well with some of my friends but with two of my buddies I'm awful playing with them. They're better players so they get me off my game because I feel like I have to keep up with them. That's the same feeling these guys get with tiger. he's the superior athlete and they have to try and play catch up and you get off your game. And when that happens in golf, you're fucked.

I'm familiar with sports psychology, but in professional golf there's just too much money involved anymore to not fix the outcome.

Eldick is the hot marketable commodity - - when he's not winning, interest in watching the PGA falls like a stone, ad revenues drop, everyone loses. Conversely, if they let Eldick win, they all win with bigger sponsorships and prizes. If this was old school true sportsmanship, I might be mad, but nowadays this is strictly business, so who cares? The only reason I get on Eldick's case is because he's such a baby with his cursing and tantrums and fake emotions - - the guy is a dick, or as they say in Spanish El Dick...

I'm glad the Shell Houston Open is over. Congrats to Casey, the 18th looked very menacing today.

Masters Week is here! Yay.

Your money argument works the opposite way. Because the vast majority of golfer's are rich, why would they have an incentive to throw matches? They don't need the money. It's not like the 1960's where guys worked a job in the off-season to make ends meat.

Who is the "they" you refer to? CBS, ABC, ESPN? How do they "let" Tiger win? Golf is an individual sport. Man against man. Do the sponsors somehow "let" Tiger shoot a 65? I don't see where any of the networks or sponsors fit in. Furthermore, ref's make very little difference in the sport. In fact, many golfer's penalize themselves without referee input.

Heh. Glad to see El Dick's finish, with the blown putt on 17 and the total meltdown on 18 - - looks good on him. With all his spitting and cursing, is there a more immature professional "sportsman"? Loser.

so bradley, since you think golf is fixed, why would the PGA fix the tournament 2 weeks ago and not the Masters?

Post subject:  Re: The PGA Tour 2009 Thread

I'm glad Bradley doesn't follow any other sports on this forum.

Brad Mode:
Pfft The Premiership is Fixed why else do Man Utd win so often
Formula 1 is Fixed, they just deliberately paid off the other teams to make Brawn GP look quick.
Rugby is Fixed no way Munster would be so strong in the Heineken Cup otherwise.

Dealing with baseless nonsense like that would become very tiresome after awhile.

All professional sports are fixed.

BTW, here's a clip of El Dick putting the "professional" in the Professional Golf Association...

It doesn't look like Tiger will make a charge today (even through 10). :( He'll have to wait another
year for his 5th green jacket.

edit

make that +1 through 11. :disgust:

Post subject:  Re: The PGA Tour 2009 Thread

Tiger shot -2 under and is -4 for the tournment. Currently he's 7 shots back from the leaders.

it's official :disgust: he's not going to win or even challenge the leaders tomorrow.
