If the Lions agreed to play the best college team... Florida/Texas/Oklahoma/Alabama/USC... Who wins? I vote Lions. |

Lions win by at least 30, dumb question. They may be the worst in the league but they're still all pro-level players. Ask yourself, how would the best NCAA team do against the field the Lions have faced so far this season? Would they be within 25 points in any game? Lions suck but they've been competitive here and there and had 5 losses within 10 points. Would the top NCAA team lose 10-12 to the Vikings? No, they'd lose 60-0. |

The only college team in recent history that would have even a remote shot at something like this would be the 2004/2005 USC Trojans, mainly because those teams were comprised of future NFL starters at nearly every position. Even still, they would probably lose by three or four touchdowns, if not more. Although I do think under the right circumstances a college team could give an extremely weak and talent depleted NFL team a good fight. I mean, we saw what something like the Wildcat formation did to New England when they weren't ready for it, and considering stuff like that is the norm in college football, I think you could see a super creative college team at least put some points up. But in all reality, the biggest difference in a game like this would be the two lines. The defensive line and offensive line of your average NFL team is about 50 pounds heavier and three or four steps faster than the absolute best college lines. The game would be dominated in the trenches. The college team would have a hard time just getting a pass off, or getting a positive run at any point. That is why it would have to be all about trickeration and neutralizing the talent gap. |

I think the best college teams, like 01 Miami, might be able to beat the Lions if they were allowed to play in the NFL for 2 years and then played the current Lions team. That Miami team was: Offense: Willis McGahee, Clinton Portis, Najeh Davenport, Frank Gore, Jason Geathers, Andre Johnson, Jeremey Shockey, Kellen Winslow, Kevin Everette, Roscoe Parrish, Ken Dorsey (qb and weakest person here), Bryant McKinnie, Carlos Joesph, and Bret Romberg, Probably other offensive linemen that I don't recognize that were in the NFL. Defense: (even better) Antrel Rolle, Mike Rumph, Kelly Jennings, Phillip Buchannon, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor, D.J. Williams, Jonathan Vilma, Vince Wilfork, William Joesph, and Jerome McDougal. |

I'm going to say yes and give a good reason. If such a game were to happen, the Detroit players would be already be humiliated to the point of no return. Meanwhile, the Alabama players are playing the biggest game of any of their lives so far. Who's going to be more motivated? |
