Post Levy's NFL Power Rankings: Week 16
As always: Feel free to comment, mock me and post your rankings.

Week 1:

1. Dallas Cowboys
Yes, they haven't one a playoff game in years, but the Cowboys clearly have to be considered the favorites to win it all now. They dominated a decent Browns team and Romo and Owens are clicking. Let's hope Jessica Simpson will screw them up again.

2. Pittsburgh Steelers
The best in the AFC right now. They crushed the Texans with a fantastic running game, good defense and a decent Roethlisberger. Sounds like a Superbowl mix to me.

3. Philadelphia Eagles
Every year they get into the season and everyone loves them. Every year they find a way to screw it up. So far, they looked like possible champions - albeit against a laughable Rams team. But if McNabb stays healthy and doesn't sulk and if they put their game on Westbrook's shoulders, they are playoff bound.

4. Green Bay Packers
Who needs Favre if you have as much talent on the roster as Green Bay? If Rogers continues to play like he did and doesn't make stupid plays, they have a possible championship team.

5. Minnesota Vikings
Yes, they are 0-1, but losing in Green Bay by five points is no shame. Statistically they were better in almost every area, so they deserve to be ranked this high.

6. Carolina Panthers
Beating San Diego on the road without your best receiver is quite a feat. I'm not sold on the Panthers yet, but it is hard to ignore them after this game.

7. New York Giants
It feels a lot like last year. Everyone is doubting the Giants, yet they find a way to win. Having a dominating defense even though they lost their two best DEs deserves applause. Yes, Eli Manning looked shaky with three throws, but let's be honest: Many people thought they would have more problems to win their first game. Are they a playoff team? The strength of their division plays against them, but they definitely deserve to be called a top-10-team.

8. Buffalo Bills
The biggest surprise of the first week. They not only won against Seattle, they crushed them. This is a risky prediction, but they have a 50-50 chance of winning their division and making the playoffs.

9. New England Patriots
The biggest questionmark of the Power ranking. How much will Brady's loss hurt them? If the first game is any indication, then a lot. They almost lost. Against the Chiefs. However they hadn't had a chance to really plan the game for Cassel. You know that Bellichick will do everything during this week to divise a game plan he is able to handle which means the running game will shoulder a lot of weight. They still have a great defense, so they will be fine, but they're no lock to win their division any more.

10. San Diego Chargers
They were considered the AFC runner-up before the season, but the loss against the Panthers knocks them down a few spots. They're still a great team, so putting them down even lower seems unjustified - for now.

11. Cleveland Browns
Losing against the best team in the NFL doesn't mean they're bad. I actually liked the way Anderson played especially since I expected him to be a fluke last season.

12. Chicago Bears
My pre-season ranking would have had them ten spots lower but winning at Indy can't be ignored. As always they just need a QB who doesn't screws them up. Is Orton the answer? The coming weeks will tell.

13. Indianapolis Colts
Again, from their first-week-performance they deserve to be lower. But it way clear to see that many of the problems came from Manning being rusty. If he stays healthy, they'll do just fine.

14. New York Jets
Clearly the most overrated team after week one. Just because Favres throws something up for grabs and it results in a TD doesn't mean they're super bowl candidates this year. I don't know how often you can throw and pray and expect TDs as a result. But then again, Favre does it his whole Hall-of-Fame-bound career.

15. Jacksonville Jaguars
What happened? They were supposed to challenge Indy for the division title but the first game was terrible. Most of the problems came from the O-Line being overmatched. 7 sacks, 30 rushing yards for Taylor and Jones-Drew combined. There was nothing that resembled the Jags from last year. If next week's performance will be similar, I'll drop them below 20, for now I'm not ready to give up on them

16. Atlanta Falcons
Yes, Michael Turner deserves to be a starting running back. That much should be clear now. Especially in a rushing-friendly environment like Atlanta he can flourish. This could become a really surprise team.

17. New Orleans Saints
Are these the Saints of 2006 or 2007? It is still unclear after the first game. The offense was convincing enough to consider them a contender, but the defensive performance says they're just pretenders.

18. Denver Broncos
That was quite a convincing game by Jay Cutler. However: It came against the Raiders, so you better don't buy tickets for the Superbowl yet. Let's see them beat better opponents first.

19. Houston Texans
They were considered the sleeper of the season, seems their rushing defense was still asleep when the game started. Still, they lost against the best AFC team, so no need to worry too much about the start of the season.

20. Tennessee Titans
Vince Young is out for at least two weeks. His back-up is Kerry Collins. Enough said.

21. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Is it just me or does Jeff Garcia age in dog years? He looks like a 50-year-old. However he is still playing good football and the Bucs came close to winning in New Orleans. Still, they're a team that can go either way this year.

22. Seattle Seahawks
Sorry Seattle, but I have completely lost faith in the Seahawks. Thay played a terrivle game on both sides of the ball and now that Nate Burleson is gone for the season, they probably have to audition their 12th man to find possible receivers.

23. Baltimore Ravens
A trick play and having Marvin Lewis as opposing coach helped for a successful start of the Joe-Flacco-era. Nothing to write home about, though.

24. Arizona Cardinals
Yes, they're 1-0. But still, Kurt Warner did nothing to erase doubts that Arizona still hasn't found a QB who answers their problems. Especially their inability in the red zone - against the 49ers - is worrying.

25. Washington Redskins
If their CBs could catch a ball, they might have given Eli Manning and the Giants a bit more trouble. But then again: Probably not. You could have placed the ball at the Giants' one-yard-line and they wouldn't have scored in the second half.

27. Detroit Lions
Are you still laughing at the annual Jon-Kitna-playoff-guarantee? Well, I am. Remember when Kitna converted all his teammates to Jesus people a while ago? Wonder if they still believe in the Lord Almighty.

28. Kansas City Chiefs
They almost managed to end the Patriots undefeated season - only to fall short at the five yard line. That they couldn't even a team and an audience this shocked, doesn't bode well. But at least they will be 1-1 after next week, thanks to the always reliable Raiders.

29. Miami Dolphins
Chad Pennington couldn't even beat a team whose system he knows in and out. That spells trouble for the rest of the season.

30. San Francisco 49ers
Frank Gore had a 41-TD-run, other than that the 49ers offense was completely harmless, fumbling away any chance at a win they might have had. You don't have to be a genious to predict them to expand their team record five losing seasons in a row to six.

30. Cincinnati Bengals
That ticking sound you hear? That are the seconds running out on Marvin Lewis as a Bengals head coach. That was just a pathetic game. Under 100 passing yards with Carson Palmer as your QB? Giving up 350+ yards against THE RAVENS? What else has to happen before you get fired in the NFL?

31. St. Louis Rams
If you have Stephen Jackson, Marc Bulger or Torry Holt on your fantasy team, chances are you drafted them roughly five rounds too early.

32. Oakland Raiders
The Raiders learned one thing: JaMarcus Russell is great in garbage-time. There, I managed to say a positive thing about them.

Pats 2ndary sucked against the cheifs; dbowe dropped the tying td thank god. But their run d looked excellent. Adalius Thomas and Jerod Mayo in particular. That wont help them against the jets, but then again the jets almost lost to MIAMI..

I rank Tennessee higher, their defense is amazing. I also don't think Collins is that much of a drop off maybe he will actually complete some passes. Young played awful on Sunday.

I agree them and the Titans both are way too low. I know ESPN has the Saints like 7 or 8 and the Titans 11.

Judging from today's first half #17 looks about right for the Saints

Other then the fact they're going against a very solid Redskins team after beating a very solid Bucs team.

The game wasn't as close as the result and if the Giants let St Louis any closer they'll drop A LOT next week

Post Re: Levy's Ramblings aka NFL Power Ranking: 2008 Edition
Week 2:

1. (unchanged). Dallas Cowboys (2-0)
There were a lot of things I didn't like about the Cowboys - especially Tony Romo looking like Eli Manning in the early part of the last season, fumbling balls and throwing interceptions instead of eating it. However, we all know how that ended. But Tony Romo clearly has to lose his stagefright on a national stage.

2. (up 2) Green Bay Packers (2-0)
Rodgers looks fantastic, maybe he is not the next Brett Favre, but he is exactly what this team needs right now. I thought about putting them at #1 because they have probably the best team, but letting Detroit back into the game prevented that.

3. (up 4) New York Giants (2-0)
I am scared. Just because the ESPN guys at Monday Night Football called the Giants the best team in football right now. They have a point, they're still the champions and unbeaten. And quite honestly with their upcoming schedule there is a greant chance they will start 5-0. That will mean people will doubt them until week 7, but today they definitely belong up here. Their D is dominating, Eli looks good and the running game looks even better thank to a great O-Line.

4. (down 2) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0)
I wasn't convinced by their win against Cleveland. However they're still a force to be reckoned in the AFC.

5. (up 13) Denver Broncos (2-0)
The biggest jump in the rankings. I wasn't sold on Cutler against an easy opponent in week 1, but count men converted now. If your coach calls a 2-point-conversion to make or break the game and puts the ball in the QB's hands, it means he is confident in him. So why should I doubt it. That and the return of Brandon Marshall makes them a Top-5-team.

6. (down 3) Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)
They should have won against the Cowboys, but the inability to score TDs early cost them. But imagine what this offense can do with their primary receivers back who know better when to throw the football away. Yes, I am talking to you DeSean Jackson.

7. (up 1) Buffalo Bills (2-0)
I still say they are the team to beat in their division. Everything I've seen tells me, they are better than the Pats. Sorry, Chip.

8. (up 12) Tennessee Titans (2-0)
Yeah, I admit. I dropped the ball here. I thought Kerry Collins would continue the tradition to destroy this team. But he did just fine and the rest of the team, especially the D, is so good, that the QB doesn't matter a lot.

9. (down 3) Carolina Panthers (2-0)
They drop three spots only because I underestimated a few teams the first week - and because it was another non-convincing win. The Bears should have won this game, but if Carolina is able to turn a game twice in a row, you have to give them props.

10. (down 1) New England Patriots (2-0)
Like I said last week, the Jets were overrated. A decent performance was enough for the Pats to win. But if you have seen the game and if you look at the stats, this game could have gone either way. Like the Giants they could go 4-0 thanks to their schedule, but the double-whammy of San Diego and Denver will prove if they are really a Top-10-team. At this point, I doubt it.

11. (down 6) Minnesota Vikings (0-2)
I can only repeat myself. They are 0-2, but they are far better than their record. If they had any other QB at their helm, they probably would be 2-0 by now. Tavaris Jackson is their achilles heel and they better find a way to adapt the gameplan to his abilities (Run, Run, Run, HB pass, kneel down). But even with Jackson they would have won against Indy if it wasn't for the officials.

12. (down 2) San Diego Chargers (0-2)
They lost this game because of Ed Hochili, so the drop is not as hard as you might expect. Their two losses came against Carolina (#9) and Denver (#5), so don't hit the panic button just yet. They have three easy games upcoming, so I expect them to recover easily.

13. (unchanged) Indianapolis Colts (1-1)
Another really bad performance by them, the running game was non-existent, the defense is full of holes. I haven't heard about the extent of Tony Ugoh's injury, but if he'll miss any time, Peyton is in big trouble. Minnesota's D-Line had a field day with them. Next week against the JAX will show where this division is headed.

14. (up 11) Washington Redskins (1-1)
Their game this week proved two things: First, the Saints aren't that good. Second, the Giants really are good. Without the D in his face all the time, Jason Campbell was able to find Santana Moss again, and again, and again. The NFC East is the best division in the NFL and if the Skins were in any other division, they'd probably make the play-offs. Bad luck, I guess.

15. (down 4) Cleveland Browns (0-2)
Oh Boy, the Browns have a killer schedule. If they don't win the next two against Baltimore and Cincy, they are doomed. However they kept it close against Pittsburgh, so I don't wanna put them any lower than this.

16. (down 4) Chicago Bears (1-1)
Uhoh. Hope the sudden breakdown on offense isn't a sign for things to come. They just had to eat time from the clock, but suddenly couldn't score any first downs. A mystery team right now.

17. (down 3) New York Jets (1-1)
Throw a good defense at him and Favre gets easily spooked. He didn't look comfortable all night, extending sacks from 5 yard to 15 yards and making dangerous throws. But most blame has to go to Eric Mangini. You have Brett Favre at the helm and make three consecutive run attempts at the goal line. Really?

18. (up 1) Houston Texans (0-1)
Hurricane Ike blows them up a spot

19. (up 4) Baltimore Ravens (1-0)
Five more hurricanes and they're #1 in my ranking

20. (down 3) New Orleans Saints (1-1)
You thought I had them ranked too low last week, well I just put them down even further. Yed, they could have won against Washington if they didn't chicken out and punt at 4th and 1. But bad coaching is part of the game as well. Plus: Drew Brees didn't look good and more importantly the running game was a total failiure racking up barely 50 yards. With their upcoming schedule they could easily be 2-6 before their bye week.

21. (up 3) Arizona Cardinals (2-0)
They beat two really bad teams, but that doesn't mean they're a good team. The game against Washington will be the tester if they have upward potential or if they drop back to oscurity. Before they have faced a real opponent who can pressure the QB and cover the WRs I refuse to move them in the Top 20.

22. (down 1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)
I don't know if Brian Griese the better choice at QB for Tampa, but a win is a win. If it hadn't come against Atlanta, I'd put them higher, but I'll wait.

23. (down 8) Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
The biggest disappointment of the season. We have only week two, but their season is already on the line. With a hurt O-Line and wide receiver corps it looks like the challenge for the division title will fall short again, this time by a very big margin.

24. (up 6) San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
Wow, that looked really good. Could J.T. O' Sullivan be a real NFL QB? At least he'll make other teams aware that they can't beat the 49ers by only stacking the line against the run, which is good news for Frank Gore.

25. (down 9) Atlanta Falcons (1-1)
One-hit-wonder. That description fits Matt Ryan, Michael Turner and the Falcons like a glove.

26. (up 1) Detroit Lions (0-2)
Another wasted season for the Lions. They will put up a lot of offense against you, but Kitna is just not reliable. It's like rolling a dice

27. (down 5) Seattle Seahawks (0-2)
Another week, another receiver lost. The Hawks are done this season.

28. (up 4) Oakland Raiders (1-1)
You can say a lot against the Raiders, but the players don't quit on their coach. With a loss he would have been fired, but now he should earned himself a few more weeks. If they find a way to work McFadden into their game plan more and continue to stop the run like they did against the Chiefs, they could be fine.

29. (unchanged) Miami Dolphins (0-2)
So far all the changes in the off-season didn't pay off. Wonder if Bill Parcells regrets getting out of the comfortable studio and back in the action.

30. (unchanged) Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
If they continue this way Ocho Cinco will play for a team that is Cero Dieciséis. And you know that that is an explosive combination. Expect him to demand his trade any minute now.

31. (down 3) Kansas City Chiefs (0-2)
You lose against the supposedly worst team in the NFL, you are supposed to take their place. However...

32. (down 1) St. Louis Rams (0-2)
...the Rams can't be outdone after they lost their second game by more than 25 points. And quite honestly that was a good result for them

Theyre a great team, but their defense was garbage last night for a while.

Rodgers HAS looked great. Ryan Grant has not. This is a team that let Calvin Johnson, who just might be the scariest player in the game today, single-handily tie up the game.

The Giants have looked very good, Eli in particular. HOWEVER, it remains to be sen if what will happen when Jacos inevietbly gets hurt.

They are good, but have to use Mendenhall more.

Um, what? They shouldnt have won that game, no matter how good Cutler and Marshall were, Cutler FUMBLED. You cant count on refs to give them the game every week, they should be 1 and 1.
Quote:
6. (down 3) Philadelphia Eagles (1-1)
They should have won against the Cowboys, but the inability to score TDs early cost them. But imagine what this offense can do with their primary receivers back who know better when to throw the football away. Yes, I am talking to you DeSean Jackson.

Jacksin is their #1 reciever, and he is very good. Stupid, yes, but he is very good. After that embarassing moment, you wont see too many more mistakes from him anyway. This is the NFL's #2 team.

Quote:
7. (up 1) Buffalo Bills (2-0)
I still say they are the team to beat in their division. Everything I've seen tells me, they are better than the Pats. Sorry, Chip.

Whoa. Way to high. Edwrads has looked sharp, Lynch has been "meh". But lets look at who they beat:

-Seattle: who, lost to san francisco. this team just sucks.
-jacksonville: a decent football team but given that they lost to the titans to by a bigger score. Tennesee is a lot better than Buffalo, so is New England.

Quote:
8. (up 12) Tennessee Titans (2-0)

.

Top 5 team right now. Chris Johnson is uncontainable and that D is playing great.

Quote:
9. (down 3) Carolina Panthers (2-0)
They drop three spots only because I underestimated a few teams the first week - and because it was another non-convincing win. The Bears should have won this game, but if Carolina is able to turn a game twice in a row, you have to give them props.

They just might be a top 5 team too. They have beaten San Diego AND Chicago (who beat INdy0 WITHOUT their best player. They are only going to get better barring injury. Jonathan Stewart looked great too.

Quote:
10. (down 1) New England Patriots (2-0)
Like I said last week, the Jets were overrated. A decent performance was enough for the Pats to win. But if you have seen the game and if you look at the stats, this game could have gone either way. I dont know. Their defense looked great. If it keeps up they are a top 5 team. Cassel should a driled a wide open randy for a late bomb td, but totally misfired. In time, that will become a td. Also, thats Pats running game never really got going either. Thatll have to improve. But their defense has them close or in my top 5.

Quote:
11. (down 6) Minnesota Vikings (0-2)

The Tarvaris Jackson hate is so overrated; why not ask his tight end why didnt hold onto that easy touchdown (and therefore they woulda won) or why sydney rice cant hold onto a 50 yard catch?

Quote:
12. (down 2) San Diego Chargers (0-2)

Their oline is so beat up its killing them. Addais 2008 campaign has been a major flop so far and manning is so out of sync its painful.

I dont thik anybody saw a bigger improvement from week 1 to 2 then the redskins, defeating the saints who beat tampa bay. if they play like that every week theyll be top 10.

Quote:
15. (down 4) Cleveland Browns (0-2)
Oh Boy, the Browns have a killer schedule. If they don't win the next two against Baltimore and Cincy, they are doomed. However they kept it close against Pittsburgh, so I don't wanna put them any lower than this.

their big offensive 3-anderson, edwards, and lewis-have all been very unimpressive so far.

Quote:
16. (down 4) Chicago Bears (1-1)
Uhoh. Hope the sudden breakdown on offense isn't a sign for things to come. They just had to eat time from the clock, but suddenly couldn't score any first downs. A mystery team right now.

It is.

Quote:
Really?

Favre is the most overrated player playing tody. 67 picks in the last 3 seasons. He had a great team around him in 07 and went far, now rodgers is seemingly doing what he did better effortlessly. should tell you something bout how much farve has left in the tank.

Quote:

Reggie has been impressive; that oline needs to open up som bigger holes.

Quote:
21. (up 3) Arizona Cardinals (2-0)
They beat two really bad teams, but that doesn't mean they're a good team. The game against Washington will be the tester if they have upward potential or if they drop back to oscurity. Before they have faced a real opponent who can pressure the QB and cover the WRs I refuse to move them in the Top 20.

they have a top 5 qb and wr crew, but top 30 everything else.

Quote:
22. (down 1) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1)
I don't know if Brian Griese the better choice at QB for Tampa, but a win is a win. If it hadn't come against Atlanta, I'd put them higher, but I'll wait.

:hahaha: 22?

Quote:
23. (down 8) Jacksonville Jaguars (0-2)
The biggest disappointment of the season. We have only week two, but their season is already on the line. With a hurt O-Line and wide receiver corps it looks like the challenge for the division title will fall short again, this time by a very big margin.

told ya so, this team was always gonna more pretenders then contenders when their d cordinator left.

24. (up 6) San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
Wow, that looked really good. Could J.T. O' Sullivan be a real NFL QB
? At least he'll make other teams aware that they can't beat the 49ers by only stacking the line against the run, which is good news for Frank Gore.

No.

Quote:
25. (down 9) Atlanta Falcons (1-1)
One-hit-wonder. That description fits Matt Ryan, Michael Turner and the Falcons like a glove.

If they made jerious norwood their every down back theyd be much better off than with mike turner

Quote:
26. (up 1) Detroit Lions (0-2)
Another wasted season for the Lions. They will put up a lot of offense against you, but Kitna is just not reliable. It's like rolling a dice

atleast they can watch calvin johnson

Quote:
27. (down 5) Seattle Seahawks (0-2)
Another week, another receiver lost. The Hawks are done this season.

Yes, they suck.

Quote:

McFadden looked ok, his oline looked GREAT. The running room mcfadden has was insane. and he needs to learn how to hold onto the football. but he looked good. so did mike bush. if they can successfully run the ball and play d they can hang with anybody.

Quote:
30. (unchanged) Cincinnati Bengals (0-2)
If they continue this way Ocho Cinco will play for a team that is Cero Dieciséis. And you know that that is an explosive combination. Expect him to demand his trade any minute now.

this team is the joke of the nfl now.

Quote:
31. (down 3) Kansas City Chiefs (0-2)
You lose against the supposedly worst team in the NFL, you are supposed to take their place. However...

they got creamed by oakland...

Quote:
32. (down 1) St. Louis Rams (0-2)
...the Rams can't be outdone after they lost their second game by more than 25 points. And quite honestly that was a good result for them

steven jacksons ghost tackle sums up their season.

As I always do, I rank each team in their "class". 2 wins and you're in the first group, 1 in the middle, 0 and you suck. So really, it's a ranking of the classes. San Diego isn't the 23rd best team... they're the best 0 win team.

My Rankings:

1. Dallas
2. Green Bay
3. Arizona
4. Denver
5. Pittsburgh
6. Tennessee
7. NY Giants
8. New England
9. Buffalo
10. Carolina

11. Indianapolis
12. Chicago
13. Philadelphia
14. Baltimore
15. New Orleans
16. Washington
17. Tampa Bay
18. NY Jets
19. San Fransisco
20. Atlanta
21. Oakland

22. San Diego
23. Houston
24. Jacksonville
25. Cleveland
26. Minnesota
27. Detroit
28. Seattle
29. Kansas City
30. Miami
31. St. Louis
32. Cincinnati

The Giants have looked very good, Eli in particular. HOWEVER, it remains to be sen if what will happen when Jacos inevietbly gets hurt.

**************

>>> well the Giants have 3 very good running backs plus lots of receiver weapons so first we shall see if he ever gets hurt and then second, how much it hurts.

Post Re: Levy's Ramblings aka NFL Power Ranking: 2008 Edition
Week 3:

1. (unchanged). Dallas Cowboys (3-0)
Last weekend did show one thing: The power in the NFL has shifted to the NFC, to be more specific to the NFC East. The four teams there are 10-0 against opponents from other divisions so far. I thought about listing them 1,2,3,4 in the Power Ranking. And if they keep up like this, they will be in three weeks time.

2. (up 4) Philadelphia Eagles (2-1)
Right now everyone in Philly is lookign at the right ankle of Brian Westbrook. That they dominated the Steelers without him, showed how good they really are. Is anyone else anxious to see the rematch between the Cowboys and the Eagles? Something tells me we might see a different result that time.

3. (unchanged) New York Giants (3-0)
That they were not able to beat the Bengals more convincingly is a little frightening, but that was clearly a trap game. Now they go into the bye week undefeated and with the knowledge that they have to fight a bit more to win. (and maybe they realize that Eli is good enough to be trusted a game when the opponent just wants to stop the run). Best situation possible. And let us not forget that the Bengals might be better than their record.

4. (up 4) Tennessee Titans (3-0)
I really like the Titans, their defense is dominating like no other. They could easily get to the Superbowl this year, seeing what their competition in the AFC is. Two games ahead of the two teams in their division most pundits had to go the Playoffs/Superbowl is impressive.

5. (unchanged) Denver Broncos (3-0)
Another close call, another win. But after they've beaten San Diego and New Orleans their schedule gets only easier. If they beat Tampa (Week 5) and Jacksonville (Game 6) this could very well become the team to scare Don Shula and his 1972 Dolphins.

6. (down 4) Green Bay Packers (2-1)
There's no shame in losing to the Cowboys. It'll happen to a lot of teams. The Pack will still be able to reach the postseason, they just met a better team last week.

7. (down 3) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
They still might be the best AFC team. Last year that would have meant Nr. 1, this year it is just good enough for a spot in the top 10.

8. (up 11) Baltimore Ravens (2-0)
The big mover of the week. I love their defense and Joe Flacco is just doing enough to not hurt them. That was an impressive win last week, although we don't really know how bad the Browns really are. They would probably be 3-0 without the hurricane and deserve to be in the top 10.

9. (up 2) Minnesota Vikings (1-2)
I don't know if Gus Frerotte is the saviour for them. Yes, they won, but it was more for the fact that they have a really great football team besides the QB position. They're defense and the run was dominating. But Adrian Peterson is always an injury risk and if you meet the Viking wouldn't you just stack the line and force Minnesota to beat you with the passing game? Still, the overall talent is too good to have them outside the top 10.

10. (up 2) San Diego Chargers (1-2)
They would be 2-1 without the blown call, so this team is really a lot better than their record. They should cruise into the playoffs especially with LT coming back to form.

11. (up 3) Washington Redskins (2-1)
They could easily lose every team in their division and still have a 10-6 record, that's how good the NFC East is. But that could still be good enough to earn a wild card spot. Jason Campbell looked good for the second week in a row and he'll get only better in learning the west coast offense. This team has lots of potential.

12. (down 5) Buffalo Bills (3-0)
The week was good for the Bills. They are still undefeated, the Pats totally collapsed and they established themselves as the team to beat in the AFC East. How can they still drop 5 spots, you ask? Well, beating the Raiders by a point is not a great calling card (although the comeback was impressive) and they suffer a bit from the realization how good some teams are who lost game against the powerhouses of the league

13. (down 4) Carolina Panthers (2-1)
After two non-convincing wins they finally weren't able to get it done. And that although they had Steve Smith back in the line-up. They might edge back into the top 10 with two easy games against Atlanta and Kansas, but if they don't beat them by a bigger margin, they don't deserve to be higher.

14. (up 9) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)
Sorry for switching them so wildly, but I have no idea where to put them right now. I put them that much higher this week because their two losses came against teams that are still undefeated and winning against their arch-rival Indy is quite good considering how much was on the line for them.

15. (down 2) Indianapolis Colts (1-2)
Too bad they demolished RCA stadium because their new facility has not been nice to the Colts. 0-2 was certainly not the start they expected there. The thing that should scare Colts fans the most is that they look as if their run defense from 2006 is back. Taylor and Jones-Drew didn't look good the first two weeks but still managed more than 100 yards each. Ouch!

16. (down 6) New England Patriots (2-1)
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me four times? I don't know what to say. Wasn't Bellichick supposed to be the best coach of the league? How can they allow four TDs on direct snaps to the Running Back. The Football Gods must really hate the Pats for last season by taunting them this way.

17. (up 5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1)
A win against Atlanta and an overtime win against Chicago is not earth-shattering, but they have a winning-record. But nor for long if you watch at their schedule. Within the next five weeks they play Green Bay, Denver, Carolina and Dallas. Could be tough for them to get to the playoffs. Especially if there's a QB controversy coming up again. Brian Griese looked terrible for the most part of the game. Luckily for Tampa he led a great comeback, otherwise there would be people calling for Jeff Garcia again.

18. (down 3) Cleveland Browns (0-3)
When you start your season against Dallas, Pittsburgh and Baltimore you probably would be 0-3 even if you are a borderline top 10 team. Next week against Cincinnati will get easier, but then they have the Giants, Washington, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Denver and Buffalo. Whoever makes the schedule is not a Browns fan.

19. (up 1) New Orleans Saints (1-2)
A heartbreaking loss for the Saints. Now people will argue that if Sean Payton hadn't gone for the TD on 4th and 1 in the first half (they got a safety afterwards) and instead kicked the field goal, they would have tied the game with a Pat and didn't have to go for two. To those I say: Woulda, coulda, shoulda. I liked his decision and if tehy had tied it, Denver could have easily gone for a Field Goal instead of running the time out. The Saints will be fine.

20. (down 2) Houston Texans (0-2)
Not easy to figure out where to put them. They lost against Pittsburgh and Tennessee. With games against Jacksonville and Indianapolis coming up, I could see them starting 0-4 and still not being a bad team.

21. (down 5) Chicago Bears (1-2)
Even at 21 the Bears might be too high. However they still beat Indy in Week 1 and that has to count for something, right? (unless they lose against Jon Kitna’s Merry Band of Losers in Week 5)

22. (down 5) New York Jets (1-2)
Was Favre’s comeback the worst career decision ever? Not only does performances like the one against San Diego hurt his legend, the concurrently success of Rodgers with the Packers shows that his success there was more because of the team and not him.

23. (down 2) Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
I've said it last week: They have to beat a good opponent to get into the top 20. Well, they didn't, so they are stuck here.

24. (unchanged) San Francisco 49ers (2-1)
Another convincing game by J.T. O’Sullivan, but even more encouraging is that Frank Gore finally got it going. I still doubt that they are much better than a borderline top-20-team. And their next four weeks are a killer.

25. (up 4) Miami Dolphins (1-2)
I think every football fan (okay, maybe not the Pats) enjoyed the way the Dolphins played. But I doubt the Dolphins can or will continue to play like a college offense. But if this game got NFL coaches to be more creative and less scary of trick plays we'll be in for a treat of a season.

26. (up 1) Seattle Seahawks (1-2)
Not only did they win (albeit against St. Louis), noone got injured and they now have a bye week to recover. However they face the Giants and Green Bay after the break, so don't get your hopes up too high, Seahawks fans

27. (unchanged) Atlanta Falcons (2-1)
They are only 2-1 because they played against Detroit and Kansas. Note to Fantasy Owners: Don't start Michael Turner against a good team. If you look at their schedule, try to sell him high if you find someone dumb enough to trade him for Matt Forte or someone in that vicinity.

28. (unchanged) Oakland Raiders (1-2)
The Lane Kiffin Job watch is back. Although I think a close loss against new Orleans shouldn't be enough to fire him, they really want him to go. Problem is the uncertainty doesn't help the team. He shouldn't be fired, but I'm afraid he must be let go soon.

29. (unchanged) Cincinnati Bengals (0-3)
They almost upset the Giants. This should give them some confidence. Especially since their three losses came against three teams stacked with superb defenses. They might be a lot better than that 0-3 record.

30. (down 4) Detroit Lions (0-3)
Wow, "Mr. Garbage Time" Jon Kitna couldn't even get to 150 passing yards. Would have been understandable against a defensive top 5 team, but against the 49ers? Winningless season? They. Could. Go. All. The. Way.

31. (unchanged) Kansas City Chiefs (0-3)
At this point I think if Kansas might start without a QB they might be a better team. Just sayin...

32. (unchanged) St. Louis Rams (0-3)
What can I say about the St. Lose Rams? Well, I'm just glad that they don't play the Chiefs or the Lions on Monday Night this year because those games would have seriously led to mass suicides among football fans? So far, only Fantasy players stuck with Jackson, Bulger and Co. are on the verge of killing themselves.
