I wonder why Big Papi isn't rumored. A guy who was let go by his former team suddenly turns into a homerun monster. If he isn't named it'll probabky because of Mitchell and his Sox connection (yes, I love conspiracy theories)

Ortiz was always a big guy, but a lot of that is more weight than anything. I think he is more of perfect fit for that short porch in Fenway, besides he has never had monster home run numbers. He averages closer to 40 HR a season. He is a better contact hitter than power hitter. Still that list above is rumor at this point, I have seen that posted around a few places. Although ESPN just broke through a few hours ago and confirmed Clemens is on the list.

If that list is true Bagwell, Pujous and Varetek are the guys who surprise me the most. Bagwell is the biggest shock to me.

Pujols would be the biggest hit for Baseball. Wouldn't it be funny if A-Rod was on it. Could explain why they rushed to finalize the contract today.

I can't imagine Pettitte to be on it. Otherwise he would have stayed in retirement

ESPN listed Petitte on the list. Oh I agree about Pujous, if he is on the list that is the biggest name since he is considered by many the best hitter today. If the rumor list is true, Bagwell's name is shocking to me since he has such a great reputation.

Between the big market crapping on small market salary system, the AL great NL shit seperation, and roids, baseball is a mess.

Mitchell says every team has at least 1 player. So there's a chance an 05 WS is there.

I think these are all. I typed those directly from the report. Not enough major names IMO. They're protecting a few big fishes if you ask me

Jim Parque was from the 2000 Central Champions. Hopefully he is the only one! (that I remember)

That MSNBC report this morning was off. I'm not sure about other players, but Damon and Varitek are not on the list. Eric Gagne and Donnellly were the only active Red Sox players on it.

And Mo Vaughn? :funny:

Lots of players on there who got pretty heavy injuries in the later parts of their career (like Kevin Brown). Maybe steroids aren't that good for you

Gagne signed a $10m deal with the Brew Crew, so he's not on the Sox.
