 23 months...
He'll be out of football action for total of 3 seasons. And he still might get suspened by the NFL for another season after he's released. What a way to ruin your career.

23 months? Why not just bump it up to a full two years? That bugs me. It's like the judge spun a wheel or something.

He'll probably serve 18 or so. Maybe less. Depending on his behavior.
So he'll be back playing football in 2009

He should have got more just to set an example that no matter who you are, you don't get special treatment.

You have to serve at a minimum 85% of a Federal sentence. Thus he has to serve at a minimum 19.55 months.
He went in early, so he's already served about one month.
So he's got about 18 and a half months left.
