If the Eagles play at the Superbowl like they did today, and if they have T.O. catchin' that ball, they will win the Superbowl. The Patriots are a great team, but it looks to be the Eagles year.
I hope for the sake of the Superbowl itself that the Pats don't win. It's getting old now.

Zingaling, how come you don't appreciate greatness? Why do you want to see the best be knocked down?
Anyway, Patriots will win this game. Tom Brady is not Michael Vick. Brady is calm under pressure and can actually throw the ball. Dillion will be enough to put them over the top.

It's not gonna be close. Pats in a landslide. If they score 41 against the best defense in football...well...I'd be scared.

Well, let's see... first lets keep the highest scoring offence to a measly 3 points, then we'll score 41 points against the best defence... what shall we do next? Break the spines of the Eagles? I think so

I hope the Eagles win. That would be awesome for Mcnabb & Co. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if the Patriots won. Bill Bellicek is the best coach in football.
Some racist moron couple of years ago said that McNabb was no good and the reason he was being praised was because he was black. I am pretty sure that moron is shit faced now

As it turns out, Rush Limbaugh was probably shitfaced while he made those comments.
Anyways, as for the game in two weeks, i'm pretty much feeling the same way ChipMunky is. If we can hold the Colts to only three points, and beat the Steelers by 14 (Really 21, on the last touchdown, no one was playing defense) who have the best defense in the NFL, you have to feel very comfortable if you are a Pat riots fan. Who have the Eagles played that make up step back and become impressed with what they have done? The Vikings and the Falcons? WOW! Check that. Who did they play during the Regular Season (And beat) that would make someone impressed with the Eagles?
Also, it helps a lot that most of this Patriots team has been there twice before, while very few on the Eagles have been there at all.
Who knows what will happen between now and February 6th, but the Patriots will have Richard Seymour back along with probably Patrick Pass. Unless T.O. can play defense too, like Troy Brown, I don't think the Eagles can win this game.

I agree with most of you that New England looks damn good to win it all again. They would be the first dynasty in the salary cap era. In fact I would say they already are a dynasty
So Jmart, you couldn't ask for a better year in sports, huh?
Red Sox win, Patriots are probably gonna win again after having won last year. Too bad Celtics suck, otherwise a winning trifecta. As for NHL, RIP.

Well here's another injury for the Eagles.
ESPNews reports Philadelphia Eagles TE Chad Lewis (foot) suffered a foot injury Sunday, Jan. 23, and will have surgery Wednesday, Jan. 26. He will not be able to play during the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots.
They gonna get crushed.

Yes, I don't think any year could get realistically better than this one was for Boston sports fans. The only other year that had the potential to be better than this one, was 1986 when the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox all went to their respective sports championship games, with only the Celtics winning their championship. However, if the Patriots win this year, it will definetly cap off one hell of a year.

I think patriots are too hot right now so I give them the win.. I'd just like a good nailbiter.. and I wouldn't be too disappointed either way.

'Scuse me? You gotta a problem with that?
Actually, I was born in PA so could swing either way. I guess it would be cute if the Eagles won too...but only cause of Karl's user name.

Man everyone is talking about how the Patriots are so hot. Yea they are, but they played to completely different games against the two teams they went against.
The Steelers offense is alright at best, and the Colts defense is terrible. So all the Pats had to do was focus on one thing. It will not be the same for the Eagles, who have a powerful offense and one of the best defenses in the league (the best if you ask me, I mean they held the Falcons (best running team in NFL) to under 100 rushing yards).

Pats hold best offense in league to 3 points.
Pats score 41 points against best defense in the league.
Trust me the Pats didn't go in "focusing" on one thing. They are just that damn good.
AND I HATE THE PATS!!

Obviously they did. They let the Colts look like a good defense until the 4th quarter, and the Steelers scored 27 points on them.

Steelers really didn't score two of those TDs. Basically they were give away TDs because no one was playing defense. I really don't see the Eagles having a shot.

The Eagles haven't really played any team this year of New Englands calibur, except Pittsburgh, who in fact CRUSHED them.
Oh and also, Belichec? pretty much could assume who they were going to play against in the playoffs. I gaurantee that he spent the more weeks preparing to beat Pittsburgh than he did for Indy. Now he could probably assume pretty good that Philly was gonna make it in, I mean come on, who do they have to beat? Nobody THAT good. Now if he has been preparing as long as he did for Pitts then there's no way Philly will come close in the game.
Did any of that make sense?

Moviebuf wrote: Man everyone is talking about how the Patriots are so hot. Yea they are, but they played to completely different games against the two teams they went against. It's usually not best to start an argument when you are disagreeing with yourself. Quote: The Steelers offense is alright at best, and the Colts defense is terrible. So all the Pats had to do was focus on one thing. It's funny that you should mention the two weak factors for both of those teams, but fail to mention why both of those teams made it to the playoffs in the first place.
How exactly did the Patriots have to focus on just one thing with both of those teams? With the Steelers they had to find a way to stop the run. They did that very efficently. To say that the Steelers offense is alright at best, is to short-change them. They had a 15-1 record! On offense they had to figure out a way to score against the best defense in the league (Statistically). They scored 41 points. The Steelers game was an all around blow-out. The only reason why the score was somewhat close in the end, is because the Patriots gave up a garbage touchdown in the final minutes of the game. If the Patriots were actually playing defense on that drive, the final score would've been 41-20.
As for the Colts, everyone was so impressed by the Colts offense, and with the Patriots secondary at the time being somewhat unbalanced, everyone thought (Outside of New England) that the Patriots had no chance to stop them. Not only did they do that, but they held one of the best offensive teams ever, to 3 points. Also, you are short-changing the Colts defense. They improved during the off-season, but obviously not enough for them to win on the road during the playoffs.
The reason why the Patriots are back in the Super Bowl, and have a damn good chance to win it again, is because they are a three dimensional team. They can win in a offensive struggle with the best offensive teams, and they can win in a defensive struggle.
As for the Eagles, they play in the NFC. What impressive teams did they have to win against to advance to the Super Bowl? The Vikings and the Falcons? Notice anything about those two teams? That's right, they're both dome teams, and since neither had home field advantage, they didn't really have a chance in hell to go anywhere in the playoffs. The same can be said with the Colts. Once those teams can get home-field throughout the playoffs, then maybe they can have a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
However, you did catch the two games the Eagles have so far played in the post-season, right? They let the Vikings, and even the Falcons hang around too long, in the Falcons game especially. It was only a 17-10 game in the fourth quarter. They can't afford to do this against the Patriots (I don't think this is going to happen though, because I don't expect the Eagles to ever get a lead in the game).
Anyone else think that their 13-3 record in the regular season, was slightly inflated because they were in the NFC. I mean just look at the Vikings and the Rams. Those were two 8-8 teams that made it to the playoffs. That's pathetic. Not to mention the fact the Eagles lost against the Rams on Monday Night Football.
Also, this whole Terrell Owens thing will probably blow up in the Eagles' faces. I mean, the best thing a team needs is a distraction going into the biggest game they will proably ever play in.
I think overall the Eagles are a good team, and if they were facing any other team except for the Patriots, they would probably win in the Super Bowl. But I just think the Patriots are a better team.
