Quick Question for all. In sports... do you get more pleasure in YOUR team winning, or YOUR rival losing? Ex. I enjoy the Colorado Avalanche losing more than I enjoy the Red Wings winning. I enjoy the Yankees losing more than I enjoy the Red Sox winning. I enjoy the Ohio State Buckeyes losing the same as I enjoy Michigan winning. I enjoy the Colts/Cowboys/Chargers losing more than I enjoy the Patriots winning. It's mainly because I'm a spiteful person and my teams are going to win anyway. |

I get much more pleasure when my team wins. Now don't get me wrong, I love it whenever the Yankees, Colts, Jets, Knicks, Lakers, and Canadiens lose, but I take much more pleasure in seeing my team win. And it's especially great when we beat them one-on-one. |

I don't think that way. I only care about who wins or loses when it's either: My team winning in question A team who's winning that may affect my team in the future Other than that, rivalries don't figure into what teams I'm rooting for at the moment. |

I get pleasure from the Sox, Vikings, Bears, Lions, Celtics, USC, Georgetown losing but not more than Yanks, Pack, Knicks, ND, or Nova winning. |

I get more pleasure from the Leafs losing than the Oilers winning, I think. Even more than the Flames losing. Mostly I just hate Toronto. I'm happy when the Jays, Raptors, and Argos lose as well. |

But Canada doesn't have any other basketball or baseball teams to root for... That's just mean! So what's with the Toronto vendetta? |

My main reason for all the hate is because I live and grew up in Phoenix. Which has had NO good teams, so I've been forced to find other teams to like... and teams to hate. |

Heh, I was a fan of the Grizzlies and Expos while they were still up here. Mostly, I just hate the Canadian media's focus on Toronto like it's the centre of the universe. Like TSN, the "Toronto Sports Network". As a westerner, it just really bugs me. |
