USC and LSU are probably equals right now. They both appear to be absolutely loaded from top to bottom, and fully capable of flat out crushing most of their opponents. Florida is right there, too, but I think Tebow would have a hard time with both of their defenses. He has never seen anything like them.

West Virginia has White/Slaton/Devine, and that is it. They can keep up with anyone in a scoring fest, but they are going to have a hard time getting out of the Big East without a lose or two (the game at Rutgers is going to be brutal for them).

Oklahoma looks good now, but they will be exposed eventually. Big 12 speed simply can not compete with SEC/Pac-10 speed more often than not.

So, yeah... I'd say that right now there a two clear front runners, and a third great team in Florida that will eventually lose to LSU.

For a sleeper, and I'm hoping you all won't call out a bias here, I'm looking at Oregon right now. I've seen all three of their games, and their offense is simply unstoppable right now. Seriously, other than Florida, there probably isn't another offense as efficient and deadly as Oregon's. Every time they snap the ball, they are picking up huge chunks of yardage. Their defense is also playing much better than usual, and their schedule lines up rather nicely, as they get both Cal and USC at home.

You just watch them run the table while all the other teams lose 2 games each.

So they can go to the Rose Bowl and lose to a Pac-10 team by thirty?

Michigan may indeed thrive in their weekly Big Ten tractor pulls, but that doesn't say anything about how they can compete on a national level.

Losing to Appy State and Oregon did, though.

Exactly who is going to beat OU that's on their schedule? They have one big game left against Texas and that's a half home game. The only other big road game would be TTech but we all know Leach and his spread will get shut down by Stoops Troops. Back to Texas, OU is looking more and more likely it's either going to roll over them or win by a TD but a loss is highly doubtful at least to me. We're either going to have three undefeated teams at the end and OU probably getting shut out of the title game or LSU or USC losing allowing OU to move up a spot and take their place.

USC is incredibly well coached group of mega talents; theyre unbeatable right now....though I think USF will be top 10 by end of season.

I wouldn't be surprised to see OU run the table, just as I wouldn't be surprised to see USC or LSU lose one time, either. I think we have clearly defined who the best four teams in the country are, and it's best to just let it play out and see what happens. Someone will lose, probably more than once, and the BCS doomsday scenario will likely be narrowly avoided once again.

Even with all of that said, I still feel that OU will lose emphatically to whoever they meet if they do indeed make it to the championship game. I'm sure you'll recall how immortal the '04 Sooners looked, and we all know how that turned out.

USC is unstoppable. The problem will occur when Booty leaves to go to the NFL or to work at Circuit City. The latter of the two is where I'm putting my money. Sanchez looks like he's lost on the field.

I guess I should type this before I get the "I told you so..." line.

I'm from Oklahoma and this ridiculous loss to Colorado is a bit embarassing as an OU fan. I can't blame this loss on Bradford one bit. He threw passes that were spot on but his f'ing receivers either tipped the ball during the INTs or they couldn't hang on to the damn catch. The fumble on the punt that led to the tying score was a really bad mistake from Smith. No excuse to not being able to cover that punt and secure it properly. Lastly, the defense did a commendable job even though they were on the freaking field for practically the entire 2nd half.

Concluding one must congratulate Colorado from sticking it to OU and running the ball down OU in the 3rd quarter and for Cody Hawkins for doing a great job finding the open receiver which was clear almost everytime he passed in the 2nd half.

I think OU will still win the big 12 in the end but at least we now have that conversation of them playing for the national title out of the question.

As it stands, it should be LSU v USC in the title game.

This has been a crazy, crazy day.

As someone who bleeds Oregon yellow, my heart has been in my throat all afternoon, for it to finally be broken. I would rather lose a game by 30 points than lose the way we did today.

:whaa:

What in the hell is going on this weekend? I feel bad for the AP voters. They have a real mess of a top 25 on their hands.

Herbstreit just said during the USC/Washington game that he's moving Oregon up to #5 despite their loss today, while Cal is jumping to #3. Incredible, crazy stuff.

BTW, the Auburn kicker giving the Gator chomp to the Florida sideline after hitting the game winning field goal was classic!

HAHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA. This is so cool, especially being a future Stanford alumni. 40-some points underdog. Oh man, I'm so excited. Can't control myself.

This cf season is getting extremely interesting. I'm thinking BC and USF are just praying they go undefeated now assuming LSU loses to florida.

I also believe that USC now has the honor of being the home team with the highest points favored to win to actually lose dethroning Louisville which had the previous honor at around 37 points.

Looks like OU and Florida are back in the picture.

LSU looked great in that last quarter. They are defintely #1 and I think Ohio State is the second best team right now. After that I guess Cal and Boston College next.
