I am proclaiming his to be the greatest running back to ever play the game. http://www.detroitlions.com/document_display.cfm?document_id=4584 He played 10 years. Had over 15,000 yards. Averaged JUST under 100 yards per game for his CAREER. He never failed to reach 1,000 yards in a season, despite playing only 11 games one year. Nobody else's stats compare. If the Lions were actually a good team, and he didn't retire... he could've played 5 more years, gotten 7,000-8,000 more yards and be sitting pretty at the 22,000-23,000 yard mark. |

Amazing that his best season was his 9th year when he ran for over 2000 yards. When will he be eligable for the hall of fame? |

Yep, one of the greatest RBs ever. He was basically Detroit's whole offense, that was why he put up so many yards. I guess he retired early because he got tired of carrying the team on his back for so long. |

LT is nasty, but he aint got shit on Sanders. Bush DOMINATED high school (#2 in country as a senior) DOINATED college, and it is now just a question of how long till he is completely dominating the NFL. Heis light on his feet, and has ridiculuos speed and moves but as some pop to him too...give it 2-3 years before hes getting 1,500 yards + rushing every season + 800-900 recieving yards. btw, this is still one o my fav. hits from last season.....http://youtube.com/watch?v=iRLtoiCRlQ8 |

Yes he can. If he is not good at it yet, he will learn. His skills and potential are virtually limitless right now, he can learn and adjust to just about everything with plenty of time. Even if he gets 80 yards on 2 plays and another 40 on 20 plays, thats how hell get em. ![]() |

We'll see. Thats what EVERYBODY says to backs going into college who were great in hs..."well high schools cant tackle like colleges can". Same applies here. Like I said, he will LEARN. |

same way preist holmes(touchdown record) and terrell davis(best runing back season ive ever seen in 1998) did, right? ![]() ![]() That said, Sanders is the best. LT hopes to join the ranks of jim brown, emitt smith, and walter peyton as the greatest ever played; but Sanders is in a league of his own for now. |

I don't even know how he did it. It was like he was covered in oil, nobody could get a hold of him! |

I loved watching the Lions during those Barry years. I got to see Barry Sanders light Tampa Bay up for 230 (or so) yards at the Silverdome one time. He was a god, and made the game fun to watch. I think I would have appreciated him even if I wasn't a Lions fan. The thing I was always the most impressed about him was that he always seemed really down to Earth. After every touchdown, he'd just hand the ball to the ref and trot off the field. He was all class in a league filled with no talent ass clowns. My only complaint with him is that he handled the end of his career all wrong. I can fully understand him wanting out of Detroit (they were spiraling downward at about that time), but I think he could have gotten traded (what he really wanted) if he handled it all just a little differently. |
