Draft is on Monday... this is about the time the last thread was made I thinks. Kobe is still a queen. Gilbert's getting up there. Grant Hill's on the block. I'm an East guy so I'm hinging on what happens this offseason, it'll probably decide who is tops out and who makes it to the finals(to be destroyed) of the wide open pack next year. I've always been an avid NBA watcher but this is the first year I've been actively following it on the internet and hinging on every transcation. Fun stuff. |

Last 6 draft picks for us (New York Knicks) were magnificent. Let's hope for 7th as well. Also, summer league starts at 1st of July, in first game, out younglings will prolly face Kevin Durant. Let us see what is so special about him. |

I want the Bobcats to pick Noah just so they can even cement their status as the most retarded lookin slap-together of misfits in all of sports. ![]() |

I like Noah. ![]() And as for comic gold, surelly that goes to Atlanta. Lets just wait and see what small forward they will draft next. :-) And apparently, some speculate that Bryant might be off in a trade that will happen pre-draft. Bulls, Suns, and Knicks are the teams. I'd hate if we give all the youth to LA for him, no matter how good he is. |

One nice tidbit for Chip. Apparently, Kevin Garnett might (have) be(en) traded to Phoenix. Maybe it even happened yesterday, and teams are waiting for announcement. It's just a rumour, so don't kill the messenger. |

No names were mentioned. Here's the thread I got this from. http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=675210 It could easily be bullshit, but still, there's a chance it's legit. |

Celtics seem to be the ones hugely pursuing KG now with all their future assets on the line (Jefferson, #5, Green, West, Theo, etc.) Would be the worst deal possible for the Celtics and the best deal ever for the Wolves. But whatever. Boston gutting themselves would be golden for us, I'd love to not have to deal with them in 3-4 years when we're actually in our prime and ready to compete. Suns need KG BAD though. |

If Phoenix got KG... that would be FANTASTIC. I'm rooting for them getting rid of Marion and someone else for him. |

Quote: Garnett, sources say, wants to move to a warm-weather city and a team that can claim legitimate championship potential. Sounds like Suns. Well, 'cept that "legitimate championship potential" thing. :-) |

Shack wrote: KG just refused to play in Boston. ![]() I'm glad. As good as he is, he is 31 and would just be a temporary solution. And with Pierce and Garnett, that doesn't guarantee a championship because there would be no one behind them to back them up and because it seems that if Garnett were to come here, it would've only have been for a year. The Celtics would've had to have gone all out to get another player to add to the mix to guarantee a championship and that wasn't going to happen. At this point I would much rather have Al Jefferson and company than Garnett and no one else. Now if another deal were to come up............. |

Quote: KG To L.A. Trade Talks Finally Arrive 25th June, 2007 - 3:22 pm Los Angeles Times - The owners of the Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves have begun talks for a trade that would involve sending Kevin Garnett to the Lakers, league sources said Monday. A multi-team trade discussion is underway involving the Lakers, Indiana, Minnesota and possibly a fourth team, with the Lakers getting Garnett and the Pacers getting Lamar Odom and teenage center Andrew Bynum from the Lakers. Another minor player will likely be added to make the deal work financially. Jerry Buss and Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor spoke by phone for 20 minutes Friday. Buss reportedly ended the conversation by suggesting that Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak and Timberwolves vice president of basketball operations Kevin McHale would continue the discussion Monday. Kupchak, Buss and Lakers Coach Phil Jackson met on Friday to discuss options based on the assumption they would still have Bryant, The Times has learned. While this would be a super exciting blockbuster trade, I'm not sure any of the involved teams will benefit enough to make the playoffs next year. Whichever team receives the most future draft picks will be the eventual winner, imo. |

And the Wolves get... J.O.? ![]() Just another rumor anyways. Damn I hate following NBA rumors on message boards. |

From the Celtics point of view, they would be giving up Al Jefferson and the #5 pick for Jermaine O'Neal. There's no chance in hell of that happening, so if the deal goes down, it won't involve the Celtics unless they get another player. |

In what universe is a lineup of..... Dunleavy Tinsley Odom Murphy Bynum pretty good? Pacers could end up being the worst team in the NBA next year if that trade goes down. If this does go down it's another example of Lakers coming out on top one way or another, un-freakin-believable. For the last month it looked like everything was going to shit for the Lakers and the franchise, but all of a sudden a couple of retarded GMs (that used to play for Boston no less) are gonna make Lakers legit again and at the sametime fuck themselves over....incredible. |

so Lakers get KG, Celtics get O'Neal, Twolves get #5 and other young players, and Pacers get Bynum and Odom? That's the most desperate wacky trade ever. The Knicks need to get in on this. Get some more point guards. |

Supposedly now it's just a two-team trade. Lakers get KG Minny gets Odom, Bynum, and Brown Man....... that is one big ass rape no matter if a KG past his prime and Kobe dont do all that well, theres no doubt Minny gets worse before they get better. |

If Minnesota believes KG will walk after next season, they have to make some kind of trade, so it doesn't necessarily look so bad on their end if they can get two top-10 draft picks and one or more promising young players. It's kind of crazy and funny seeing the fans from 4 teams debating at the same time on ESPN boards. |

They won't be good, but in terms of starting over and building something for the 2010-2020 decade, doing this is a better move than than being a middle ground team who neither make the playoffs or get good picks with JO until he retires. Bynum + probably a top 5 pick next year, if not the one after + lots of cap room is fine for them IMO. It'll put them in the same situation as Minny. I kind of feel like JO is one of those cancer whining players who just ruins team chemistry, I've never really been a fan of his. |
