Mine probably go Montana Unitas Elway Favre Marino I don't put Peyton and Brady up there yet. Just for lack of experience. When Favre breaks Elway's all time win record he might jump ahead of him. |

Well considering you aren't considering any older quarterbacks, I have to check some numbers but maybe Dan Fouts for numbers, Terry Bradshaw for wins and for one year before he got hurt Joe Namath who might have been the best with his quick rockert arm before his knees got hurt. |

Who knows, Brady may end up sucking the rest of his career. He'll still be a Hall of Famer but it would take him out of "greatest ever" consideration. |

Im not saying he's the best ever, but that's ludicrous. In fact, I am pretty sure he is better than most Quarterbacks in the NFL. Brady and Favre are the only ones playing right now that you could say are better than Peyton Manning. Unless you were referring to Eli Manning, for some reason. |

yes, but lets say he had a career ending injury this sunday. to say hes one of the greatest quarterbacks in nfl history is ridiculous. sure, hes one of the best quarterbacks in the nfl now, but guess what? the nfl is based on how many super bowls you win, not how good your numbers are. marino is only that good because he destroyed records when he did so. i wouldnt put marino on the very top of the list anyway. peyton manning has to win the big games before hes even listed as a "great quarterback". |

note the headline of the article says "will" not "are" like i said before, if both of them come down with season-ending injuries, they arent even a thought of the greatest qb's ever. brady would be close, that i would agree with... but manning, no way. |

Look, if you want to consider Peyton Manning, then you must do the following: - Separate the skill portion from the Clutch/Championship/Pressure aspect. Because Peyton clearly hasn't shown that. But you can't do that. Even if you COULD separate the two (which, again, you can't), then I would take Marino over Peyton. Peyton is the most skilled, most intelligent, hardest working QB in todays league ... but the guy chokes on a chicken bone each and every year. He has done so ever since PREP SCHOOL!! Clearly that raises a red flag. The guy can't win the big game. If that changes, then everything changes. As for Brady, he throws too many INT's for my liking. This is by far his best year INT to TD ratio wise, but that's mainly because he isn't throwing nearly as much. Don't get me wrong, amazing QB, ice water for blood, but the best ever? Not yet. Personally I say it should be between Montana and Elway, but that's just me. |

You just made it sound like he isn't anything special compared to any of the other QBs playing today. Which is what I was reacting to. Definitely can't crown any QB still young in their careers as one of the greatest of all time, yet. Brady or Manning both can just get a horrible injury, or just end up sucking the rest of their careers. Winning does matter. If both Brady and Manning were to have career ending injuries this season, I think Brady would still get in the hall of fame while Manning may miss out. Despite Brady's 3 super bowls and Mannings insane numbers for the beginning of his career, they can't be annointed in "greatest ever" discussions just yet. Give them 5-10 more years and maybe then they can enter the discussion. |

Except at the end of a game when quarterbacks get into field goal range the coach calls conservative plays that help curtail any touchdown passes and play just for the safe field goal. And yes, Brady's 350 yard, 3 touchdown game against Carolina had nothing to do with the Patriots winning. Nor his 236 yard 2 touchdown performance against Philidalphia with both games havine a 100+ QB rating. |
