It may prove entertaning, but the end result is about as predictable as it gets in sports. He just does not lose in a major when he has the lead going into the final round. |

Congratulations to Mr. Woods on Open Championship #3 and Professional major #11. Nice showing by Mr. DiMarco as well. |

And I should add this: Hoylake can probably plan on joining the Rota, contrary to what most people including myself felt would be the case prior to the tournament. IMHO - the only real difference between what the R&A do and what the USGA do in terms of setting up their championship courses is that the R&A are not concerned about protecting par. Otherwise, both are after identifying the best golfer in the field via forcing the field to make all sorts of shots with all sorts of clubs, rather than allowing the sort of bomb-and-pitch approach that dominates the regular tour. The big fear I think was that if the course did not have the wind to defend it, it would prove vulnerable to bomb-and-pitch. But clearly with Tiger winning by leaving the driver in the bag (except for one hole, which was a mistake), the course has instead proven able to deliver the sort of test in question. Therefore, congratulations to Royal Liverpool as well. |

Nice to see a lot of the big names near the top. It would've been nice to have Els, DiMarco, or Garcia winning, but I like Woods so it's fine. He's always gotta have one leg up on Sorenstam. ![]() |

I'm very happy for Tiger, especially since I dislike Di Marco because of his Ryder Cup antics. Tiger he did what he had to do in the final round, he was in complete control. Once his lead was down to one he put three consecutive birdies in as if he was playing with the competition. I don't think though that Tiger is completely back. He's the best iron player in the world, so this course was perfect for him. Hopefully he can keep it up when he meets a course that will test his driving abilities |

Congrats to Tiger. He deserved this one. Maybe he will get a good streak going now. |

I really like Tiger, but I want Dimarco to win a major soon. He seems like a very decent guy. It's a shame to see him come so close and never get there. Garcia is another story. That guy is a major choke-artist. He can't putt for beans. I don't think Garcia has what it takes to challenge Woods any time soon. |

Well Bradley I would have to disagree with you....Due to the fact that his father who has basically been by his side his whole life and got him started in golf dies, and then he takes weeks off, and comes back and wins the first Major he plays...I don't think thats being a cry baby, more of winning it for his dad and it being his first win without his dad...Anyone read the article in SI about Tiger? |
