I'm sorry, I should have contained myself. But I have a feeling you'd have a field day if Portugal and Germany were defeated ![]() |

They really have exceded expectations with such a poor quality team. Also because Klinnsman is a great guy, a modern day spurs legend. |

nooo My attitude towards the English team has basically been one of disappointment. Given what they've got, they've done so little with it. A win over Portugal should have been a foregone conclusion. I liken the English to the French, but with one slight difference: the French have been able to get things together, and are shaping up to be a formidable contender for the WC! I mean, France of all things???? But unlike France, England doesn't seem to have a Zidane, some guy who riles up the team's spirit, you know? That's what I find baffling: no one is as spirited about football as the English, yet their team has consistently failed to match their fans' enthusiasm. The Germans, and now the French, have been able to channel it through into their game. So what exactly is lacking? I really don't know. I'm not nearly knowledgeable enough about football to give an answer, but I feel like getting rid of that rotten coach might do a thing or two. But then again, Argentina had a really good coach with brilliant tactics. And yet they too lost. And so did Brazil. |

I wouldn't shed tears if Portugal or Italy got eliminated, but I would go gangbusters if the French exited before the WC final match. I've been so impressed by their comeback, I really wouldn't mind it if they won the cup, to be honest. Watching Zidane play is an absolute joy. |
