Post 107th U.S. Open at Oakmont
Tomorrow the fun begins at what is supposed to be one of the toughest courses ever to host a major. Many, if not all, are expecting a winning score over par and most believe it will be higher than the +5 Geoff Ogilvy carded to win Winged Foot last year. I'd prefer to watch the pros make birdies than pars to win tournaments, and I do like to watch courses with water and trees, so Oakmont may not be the course for a prime tv experience for me. Either way, I'll be watching.

Notable tee times

Thursday (June 14), hole #1; Friday (June 15), hole #10

7:55 a.m.-1:25 p.m. -- Jose Maria Olazabal, Spain; Sergio Garcia, Spain; Pablo Martin, Spain

8:06 a.m.-1:36 p.m. -- Tiger Woods, Windermere, Fla.; A-Richie Ramsay, Scotland; Geoff Ogilvy, Australia

8:17 a.m.-1:47 p.m. -- Justin Leonard, Dallas, Texas; Rory Sabbatini, South Africa; Jerry Kelly, Madison, Wis.

8:28 a.m.-1:58 p.m. -- Retief Goosen, South Africa; Luke Donald, England; Angel Cabrera, Argentina

Thursday (June 14), hole #10; Friday (June 15), hole #1

7:33 a.m.-1:03 p.m. -- Colin Montgomerie, Scotland; Chris DiMarco, Orlando, Fla.; Tim Clark, South Africa

7:44 a.m.-1:14 p.m. -- Ernie Els, South Africa; Zach Johnson, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Padraig Harrington, Ireland

Thursday (June 14), hole #1; Friday (June 15), hole #10

1:14 p.m.-7:44 a.m. -- Vijay Singh, Fiji; Davis Love III, Sea Island, Ga.; Henrik Stenson, Sweden

Thursday (June 14), hole #10; Friday (June 15), hole #1

1:36 p.m.-8:06 a.m. -- Phil Mickelson, Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; Adam Scott, Australia; Jim Furyk, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.

Tiger's game has been looking very weak lately. His last 2 tourneys have been pathetic for him. I'm looking forward to this though.

This is the course Ernie won at in 94. I'd really love for him to take it, I've always loved him and he deserves another win to get him back on track. I don't think he will though.

I'm pulling for Ernie, Retief, and Sergio.

I don't think it'll play as tough as hyped. Even par wins it. :)

I despise Sergio Garcia after that Euro-trash faggot spit in the cup about 2 months ago.

Tiger finished at +1. Phil is looking like he's gonna go to about +5 when all is said and done, his wrist is probably killing him. Furyk is doing solid at -1, and is probably the favorite to win now.

Tiger and Oglivy may be paired for all four days.

Justin Rose seems to have had a lot of quick starts this year but then faded in the later rounds.

Tiger played awful and is still only 3 back, might as well just give it to him.

This course is only going to get tougher as the weekend goes on.

Well, look like 10 over will indeed win this thing.

Wow, just wow at the round of Paul Casey. No one will come close to that one in this tournament...

Stephen Ames tied for 3rd. :) Though a couple years ago he was in the final pairing of the Masters and received about as much camera-time as players in 20th, I don't expect them to concentrate on him much this time either.

Not quite. Tiger bogeyed the 18th and at the end of Saturday is two strokes behind the leader, Aaron Baddeley from Australia. It'd be nice to see an Aussie win the US Open two years in a row. Though on the negative side, if Baddeley wins, that'd be two Jesus-freak major winners in a row, after Zach Johnson...

I'd kind of like to see someone shoot 62 just so I can stop hearing about Johnny Miller.

Starting to annoy you to, its not quite as bad as patrick McEnroe's Roddick love in tennis, but its number 2 on my sports announcer annoyance list at the moment

Is he still allowed to love Roddick now-a-days?

I'm all for a little Jesus love -- I just can't stand it when these born-agains get bleatin' about it when they get a little TV time after a win...

Tiger has still never won without a share of the lead on the last day. Though at the Masters, his streak of never giving up a lead on the last day was broken, so he'll start to differ from normal ways.

My pick is Justin Rose to finally break through.

Baddeley winning wouldn't be a fluke. He definitely got the talent being only 26 years old and has had a very good year so far.

Tiger's round could've easily been a 65 or 66. That's a sensational round tee-to-green.

Not sure who I'm pulling for. Kind of want to see a European winning it so that the drought won't keep getting mentioned each year, but not really a fan of Casey. Rose will be ok, Baddeley is fine too. Basically someone young who could contend in future majors and win more, not another Todd Hamilton.

My pick goes to Ames too -- it'd be nice to see a guy from Trinidad win!
