Alot of good matches tonight, but the crowd turning on Cody was probably the most interesting part. I think it’s the first time that has happened? The audience will cheer for heels sometimes, but they’ll usually go along with the babyfaces.

Really good show. Omega/Bryan is going to be excellent given an hour at some point in the future.

Regarding Cody, I think it says more about how big Black is becoming/has become.

Are you okay, Flava'd? Or is that also your response to the entire show? :funny:

:funny:

I liked it! Was a bit sloppy at times, but overall as strong as ever. Dynamite having great matches isn’t news though. :funny:

Will definitely watch Rampage this week too!

Omega and Danielson was fantastic. I know it's a bit funny how, if WWE did a time limit draw, people would shit on them, but AEW does it and it's a good move. But hey, AEW has enough good will to pull off something like that and it's a smart move.

Sting still looks good in the ring. Yeah he's not in his 20s or 30s anymore, but he knows his strengths and uses them well.

I guess Balor gains 500lbs when he's The Demon? What is with WWE and these awful endings... The matches are good, but the endings are crap. Why not just have Brock interfere or something? A rope break? From one of the lightest people on the roster? Good grief.

Balor was never going to win, and I think that's the right call with Reigns' status right now. But it's unfortunate Balor was rushed into this feud only to have it end so soon as The Demon. Could have been a proper build up and story here that lasted a few months, but no... He's just going to be pushed aside again and wind up in random mid card matches. They always treat his returns as big moments, which then lead to big matches, but then he loses and nothing ever happens...

And can they rename Extreme Rules already? One actual extreme rules match on the card?... It wasn't a bad PPV really, but both Women's title matches ended poorly, and as mentioned above, the main event had an even worse ending than those.

I'll probably stick to highlights for future PPVs besides the Rumble and Mania for awhile unless I have nothing else to watch.

Probably in the minority, but I liked Jungle Boy v Adam Cole more than Omega v Danielson. :hahaha: Would be a match of the year contender for me if not for Sasha v Bianca AND Bros v Bucks.

I almost agree. It was just as good, really. And another great Dynamite. The 16-man tag match was a little much, but nice tribute to Brody.

And... SAMMY BEAT MIRO! Good match, a few sloppy-ish moments, but good way to end the night.

Finn Balor, and especially The Demon, seems to have taken the place of The Fiend. Main roster, rushed immediately into the title picture. Why? Why not build him back up first.

Post subject:  Re: Wrestling (WWE, IMPACT, NXT, AEW)

He was drafted to RAW, so...maybe he'll be utilized better? Not really, but we can hope... I'm not one to just call for WWE talent to leave and sign with AEW or another promotion, but I certainly would like Balor to. He's an incredible talent, and wasting away his early 40s in WWE would be unfortunate.

And I feel the same with AJ Styles... either move him back into the main event picture, please, or just release him so he can delivering more great matches somewhere else (he's already 44).

So, is WWE doing away with the Women's Tag Titles? The draft just split up Natalya/Tamina and Shotzi/Nox (....What?).

Nikki/Rhea (SuperBrutality), the champs, are the only women's tag team left on either roster. They can always form new teams by randomly putting two people together (like almost every women's tag team over the past year...), but it's so weird.

Decisions like that are why WWE is fucked.

I thought for sure that Hangman would be the surprise entrant in the casino ladder match tonight, but apparently he hasn't even had the baby he took time off for yet! Tell his girl to work them hips faster! :P

So now I'm wondering if it will be a debut (Buddy Murphy?) or perhaps even an ECW cameo since they are in Philly. RVD would get a major pop and I'm sure that crazy motherfucker is willing to jump off one more ladder before officially retiring. Without Hangman, there's no obvious contender for the Full Gear main event aside from Danielson, who is in a different match tonight.

Definitely going to be an interesting night. Not just because of the uncertainty surrounding the joker slot, but Tony Khan apparently has some "huge" announcement tonight.

And just saw that whoever is giving the interviews on The Bump asked Sonya how she'd feel if someone broke into her house (referring to the Edge/Rollins storyline). Umm... she literally had this happen last year when some crazy armed fan who broke into her house in an attempt to kidnap her. The look on her face before she professionally gave an answer was telling.

The last three opening AEW matches have been 5/5s. There was the botched powerbomb and perhaps the rulebook being thrown out near the end of the match (pretty prolonged time for everyone, the Elite primarily, to be in the ring together), but still some of the best 20 minutes you'll watch.

And Jungle Boy is great, but he's been really exceptional in recent weeks.

Hangman!!! Guess they had the baby after all lol. Should be a fantastic main even if they go that route.

I haven't been that excited about a short return (Hangman) in a while. That was played very well.

AEW is just killing it for me every week. I hate being a broken record, but. It's fun being a wrestling fan again and watching every show from start to finish and not just hate-watching (or hate fast-forwarding) the shows.

WWE going commercial free for an extra half hour (10:30pm) with Becky/Sasha in order to cut into Rampage (CM Punk/Matt Sydal opening the night) tonight. Rampage is also going commercial free for the first half hour in response.

WWE openly competing with AEW now, I guess, but I think this probably draws more attention to AEW, yes? Acknowledging/legitimizing them (not that they really need it).

Start of the Friday Night War? Both shows are also #1/2 on Twitter right now, too.

Friday Night Twitter War now, too.

It sucks because Friday night is an awful night for ratings, especially in that time period. Of course WWE will win because A. WWE has been around for decades and B. it's on FOX. But it's a good sign that WWE is showing signs of life. They still suck but at least they're trying.

EC3 gave an interview where he said Goldberg beating The Fiend was what killed his love of wrestling. Honestly... if my love of wrestling (mainly WWE) was lost in the last five years, it was two major turning points for me: Goldberg pinning The Fiend and Brock beating Kofi for the WWE title in ten seconds. And what's the common element in both? Saudi Arabia. WWE's deal with Saudi Arabia has been a massive detriment to me. Brock beating Kofi and taking the title was only meant to set up the Crown Jewel match against Cain Velasquez. And of course Goldberg beat The Fiend in Saudi Arabia.

Honorable mention goes bringing Shawn Michaels back for a shit match. And The Undertaker/Goldberg fiasco.

There's surprisingly less controversy with this year's Crown Jewel, but it's not without completely. They steamrolled through the Finn Balor/Roman Reigns feud so that we could get Brock back in the title picture. And if he beats Roman, even worse.

On the plus side, at least they finally have proper use for Goldberg. A storyline rather than just a match.

Reigns won, thankfully, and Lesnar has been "suspended" until next Crown Jewel.

Hard to tell what's truth or just hearsay, but it certainly sounds like Charlotte is setting the stage for her departure from WWE whenever her contract is up. There seems to be stories/rumors popping up at least once a month now, with another big one happening last night. Supposedly, she and Becky had a confrontation backstage after their title swap segment on SmackDown, and Charlotte ignored Vince before going to the ring prior to the segment. She also, again, supposedly, wanted to drop the title to Bianca on Raw to avoid Becky and the whole situation, but was denied the request.

What she's so upset about with Vince and the WWE, it's hard to say, since she can likely have as much as she wants in a contract and, presumably, whatever status she wants in the ring. Perhaps it's the booking, or perhaps it's a grudge on them releasing Andrade still. Or perhaps something personal with Vince or others backstage. *shrug*

But I think the odds of seeing her leave WWE and going to AEW in next year (or however long she still has in her contract) are continuing to go up more and more.
