 Most Exciting/Tense Sporting Events?
Mainly, I'm just talking about lately... but overall... what are the main sporting events that are the most tense, most exciting to watch?
The Final minutes of any NBA Finals game is always tense. Recently, the US Open was RIDICULOUSLY tense... as was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup... Now, I don't think the WC has been that tense yet... but it is exciting!

Tense....Probably like world cup finals or semi finals when it comes down to penalty kicks...that is extremely tense...Or a playoff in golf...Also buzzer beater moments in basketball...and 2 minutes left on clock and in football you need 2 go the length of the field...But my vote goes 2 for most tense:
Penalty shots in World Cup...You will see in like Quarter finals or Semi's or something, when its tied 4-4 and each team has one shot and one team misses and the other team has to make it...Nothing like it.

March Madness. During March we get 2-3 game winning shots per gameday and CBS cuts in for all of them. Upsets, nailbiters, and Cinderella stories make an apperance every year and make the tourny the most tense event in the world.

Game 7 last night - nothing comes close. Basketball can get tense sometimes too, but nowhere near Stanley Cup Finals tense.

If the Heat are leading going into the fourth quarter tonight, you'll see the very definition of tense.

Any football match your national team is playing in is tense

lol agreed!
it all depends on your point of view.
any game thats fast can be pretty tense and exciting, probably one of the reasons i love playing and watching ice hockey so much!! it takes such a little time to score!
i LOVE watching the olympics too- anything where Great Britain has a chance is tense. (especially stuff like rowing, or track)
watching Kelly Holmes win her gold medals in 2004 was pretty exciting, its the first time a woman from our country has won two golds in 1 games. she had sooooooo much pressure, but unlike england football players she dealt with it really well.
wimbledon can fun to watch sometimes too. depends whos playing and how close the games are.
the most tense match I've ever watched (on tv) though was England Vs Australia in the rugby world cup final in 2003.
it was tied at the end, then Jonny wilkinson kicked a goal in the last seconds to win the game! *phew*

If i was going to pick specific's for most exciting it would be the 1998 Belgian Grand Prix where Jordan won their first race. there was carnage at the start and it poured rain throughout the race but when Damon Hill crossed the line I almost climbed the wall's in delight.
The most tense was a World Cup 2002 qualifier between Ireland and Holland. The Dutch were hot favourites and we went down to 10 men early in the second half but then Mcateer nicked a goal for us and the last 20 minutes was constant Dutch pressure but we held out and dumped them out of the World Cup, they were the most tense 20 minutes i've felt in sport.

1998, game 6 of nba finals, utah leads by 3 with 40 seconds, jordan drives and scores, utah has the ball and leads by 1 with 20 seconds, jordan steals the ball from malone, 10,9,8,7 jordan fakes out russle, 6 jordan shoots.....nothing but net!
But of course, it was mike so maybe that was expected.

I mean...it was crazy. He catches it and you're like, "hes gonna make it" but then he gets tackeled and you're like, "no.." but then he streches so for a split second you think he has a chance, but then you see that hes just short.
My love for NFL football rose a lot after that one play.
I think I actually remember that, which is amazing because that would have been when I was just starting to watch football. I liked the Patriots vs. Rams superbowl. I hated the Rams by then because they are like one of the home teams here and were very very overrated. In my whole school me and one other kid wanted the Patriots to win. Th dude was msarter then me and made all kinds of bets with everyone. I hate the Patriots now also. Liked the Steelers until last season when they ended my teams 8 game winning streak! Last years Superbowl sucked. It will undoubtedly be the Bears this year and they will win by a bigger margin then they did in 86, which is saying something. It will be awesome. Ok, not really, they will probably go back to sucking this year, so all their games will be very tense for. Actually I mostly just have to watch the scores in the corner of the scren because we always get the Rams on one channel and the Chiefs on the other because Missouri hs to have two teams. So thats usually more tense because you can't actually see whats going on. Or maybe not. I don't know. Its about equal to seeing them play, because when you watch them you know they are going to screw up a million times because its the Bears and they always do. What kind of quarterback trips over his own feet 4 times in one game? Ok, I think I'm done now, sorry. Oh one more thing, I don't watch baseball because its boring but go SOX. 33 runs in two games against the Cardinals I think. Hate Missouri teams. WOOOOOO!
