The IOC executive comitee decided to axe Baseball and Softball for the Olympic Games in 2012. Possible replacements are Karate, Squash, Golf, Inline Skating and Rugby |

Isn't it ironic how they say that the reason they didn't want baseball was because MLB stars weren't in. Just 20 years ago professionals weren't even allowed in any sport. |

update: all replacement sports have been rejected, so the 2012 olympics will only have 26 sport disciplines instead of 28 |

Dammit! Oh well. At least they still have good ol' Trampoline. **Was bowling ever considered? Or is it already in the program? I remember it being a demo (non-medal) sport in the '88 and '92 ones I believe... |
