Re: Official Summer Olympics 2008 Thread
If Phelps is a nation by himself, he would've already ranked in the top 5 in the gold standing.

Wonder if Phelps will attempt to race in 2012. Hopefully he does. He just needs 4 more medals to top 20 for his career.

Re: Official Summer Olympics 2008 Thread
those are the good ones he could at least medal in. he's got 14 golds and 2 bronze. he needs a couple silver to complete the medal trifecta.

Yeah, he said he will definitely scale back in 2012, probably 4-5 events total.

I so wanted Dana to win. :-( That 100M dash was insane. I had to rub my eyes. I was, like, "Is he dancing? Is he dancing before he's even crossed the line?" WTF?

Michael Phelps has twice as many medals as Canada. He also has 8 times as many golds as Canada.

If you mean Dara Torres, I agree....but still a 41-Year old mother to get soooo close...I am insanely proud of her and I don't even know her. The dash was incredible...wow it seemed like he didn't even try...I loved the silver medalist dancing lol. He was so happy to win a medal and should be.

Have to feel for Matt Emmons. In Athens he shot at the wrong target on the last shot to lose the sure gold; and this year his gun accidentally went off to lose the same event again. http://www.nbcolympics.com/shooting/news/newsid=224611.html#emmons+misses+chinas+qiu+jian+wins

This guy can break 9.6. No fucking joke. He's only been doing this race for one year and he didn't even run 100% all the way through. Give him one more year running and figuring out some more doping techniques and have him run at 100% and he'll get to 9.6. Corrected your sentence
