URUGUAY-FRANCE
will win: France
want to win: Uruguay
BRAZIL-BELGIUM
will win: Brazil
want to win: Belgium
RUSSIA-CROATIA
will win: Croatia
want to win: Croatia
SWEDEN-ENGLAND
will win: England
want to win: England
Almost went for a Sweden win against England, but after watching them last night, they aren't great. They are missing a player like Ibrahimovic. They just lack any creation. At least England constantly move forward, trying to create stuff. I think this will give England the advantage, plus winning on penalties against Colombia when they thought there were going out would have given them even more drive.

My quarter finals picks
URUGUAY-FRANCE
BRAZIL-BELGIUM
RUSSIA-CROATIA
SWEDEN-ENGLAND
I have little doubt in all those victors, thought, you can still never know with Russia...they can just shut it at the back and then who knows. Uruguay-France should be a fun game, but I have no doubt France will pull it off. I regard Belgium much better than Brazil, and I think England shouldn't have trouble with Sweden, whom I slightly prefer but happy to see England go through anyway. In any case there's 5.5 (Russia only counts for half) European nations in the quarters, so I really think we need more slots for Euro teams at the WC.

Re: World Cup 2018 Sweden did not look like a side that deserved to be in the quarter finals of the world cup. We disposed of them rather effortlessly. So proud that England are through to the semi-finals. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime. Now I want Russia to beat Croatia, so we have an easier chance to reach the final.

Re: World Cup 2018 Half-time in the Russia-Croatia game. Russia seem to have improved from their previous performances, but still only 35% possession and their goal was isolated and opportunistic, as opposed to the Croatian team goal and 65% possession. Croatia has to win this game. I guess I'd like Russia to win JUST because England will have an easier semi-final against them than against Croatia, but if the cosmos is fair Croatia should win (and I hope they do). They are miles better than Russia.

Re: World Cup 2018 Fuck. I fell asleep after Croatia's extra-time goal. They still won, but surprised Russia got a goal afterwards. It's worked out for the best really. I didn't want England to be the team to knock out the hosts. Now that's Croatia. And the game went all the way to penalties so hopefully they will be a bit more fatigued for the England game.
