Looks like the NL Central will be the best race with four teams within 3 games and 3 of those teams tied. I would take any of the teams over the Cardinals. Would rather see one of the lower payroll teams get into the playoffs.

Yeah but that is a division that is barely over 500, and is similar to the AL Central.

Also, what Big Market Teams are in either Central?????

St Louis
Chicago
Cleveland

Both Chicago teams of course and St Louis. I would consider Detroit a big market team but barely. They have the payroll at least. Cleveland is a medium market. The NL Central has the small market teams in Pittsburgh and Milwaukee. I guess it helps those teams when everybody is around .500.

Milwaukee may be a small market, but they do more attendence than either Chicago team and Detroit. Must have a strong fanbase for such a small population, like Green Bay.

So RSN, as expected Yankees destroying Seattle, 10-3...and RSN was bragging about beating this team! LOL!

and Boston is in another dog-fight, 1-1 with Kansas City.

and as expected Lester coming back from injury, isn't there yet. Giving up the tying run in the middle of the 6th and leaving after only 89 pitches!

Top 6th: Kansas City
- M. Cabrera singled to left

- B. Butler doubled to shallow left, M. Cabrera scored, B. Butler out at third (BOY DID LESTER RSN & THE RED SOX LUCK OUT HERE!)
- E. Hosmer walked - M. Albers relieved J. Lester
- J. Francoeur struck out looking
- M. Aviles grounded into fielder's choice, E. Hosmer out at second

PS. AND YOUK LEAVES THE GAME INJURED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indians within one game! The AL Central winner will be the weakest team in the playoffs no matter who wins it. All logic would suggest that they will be swept by the winner of the AL East. So that means the AL Central winner will probably win the world series. Go Indians!

Seattle has lost 16 in a row :zonks: . Maybe they will panic and start trading away their guys to teams I like. Yankees could still use King Felix. :)

and off to Extra Innings to go....and who will be pitching now for Boston, vs that KC Powerhouse?

Well RSN How GREAT was yesterday...

Yankees destroy Seattle....and Boston has trouble at home with KC, one of the WORST TEAMS in the league.....scoring 1 RUN in 14 innings....

AND CRAWFORD, A BIG 0 FOR 6 leaving 6 Men on in Scoring Position and 2 in Easy Game Winning Situations, LOL!!!!!

But Gun, I know you are happy with his past 375 batting in Red Sox Blowout Wins, so I imagine you forgive him from being totally worthless in that horrible pathethic loss....

and to Gonzalez, what is that going over your head...it is a bird, is it a plane, NO IT IS A BUNT, WTF????? THAT TURNS OUT TO BE THE GAME WINNING HIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as Gun says, all that matters is who won and who lost...Yanks Win, Red Sox Lose, Poor Little Yanks Only 2 Behind Red Sox!!!!! LOL!!!!

PS Gun...DAMN THE EXPERTS!!!!!!

PS 2. Hey Gun, Another Great Game by the Yankees' Garcia!

Wow, that was the most dramatic save Walden has ever had. Can't believe he escaped it after what happened last night.

The horrid Kansas City Team are sure giving the Red Sox all they can handle, and at Fenway!

No wonder no RSN Fan wants to talk Baseball....

And Gun, waiting for your Crawford update, as he is 1 for his last 11 in the last two games.

Jesus Grill, we lost a game in 14 innings, and our 4th of the month. Your such a hypocrite, I may say the Yankees lose sometimes, but the Red Sox still take up the majority of my posts, that was about 40 things against the red sox for loosing a game and 1 minor note about the Yankees win. I didn't say anything bad when the Yanks lost to Oakland, because there such shit teams, but even they can beat the better teams in the league on occasion. You wonder why I respond less and less to you. And why do I need to keep updating Crawford? your the one with a problem, not me.

Also I have a life, and a full time job. Excuse me if I don't find the need to discuss the Sox with someone like you everyday, I have more important things like anything else.

On Yesterday Miller got bailed out, couldn't do shit, luckily Bucholtz will be back soon. But Papi with 5 RBIs was just pure sweetness. Lackey's got a chance for the first time all year to have more wins than losses, haha.

Somewhat agree with you. Kinda like when a movie hits 100 millon at the box office. A perfect game still has it's specialty since it's a lot more difficult to pitch. Still, can't argue the fact that if a team does for the first time, or the first in a long time, it is extra special for the team (btw, this was our first since Langston/Witt in 1988, Witt was the last solo one in 1984, which was our only perfecto)

That umpire won't ever live that down, and whatever your thoughts on no hitters, that was still an extremely fine piece of pitching.

Yeah there have been many of them, especially compared to years prior. I think the only explanation for the surge is that pitchers are getting better and better in terms of using the amount of pitches they have. More pitchers are relying on sliders and splitters and other breaking balls more than ever and I think that's why we've seen more no-hitters.

Anyways, congrats to the Mariners on finally snapping their losing streak. It's especially great as a Sox fan that they did it against the Yankees since that helps the Sox in the standings, but just as a baseball fan it's good to see that type of historic losing streak come to an end.

And the Giants are apparently close to landing Carlos Beltran. According to ESPN it looks like they're close to landing him for their top prospect Zach Wheeler. Seems like a good move for both teams. The Mets drop salary and get a top pitching prospect while the Giants add a solid bat to their lineup. It's a perfect move for the Giants in terms of trying to win (again) right now, and it's a perfect move for the Mets because their pitching has been their biggest problem for quite some time now.

Also 10 years ago, about half the players were on drugs of some kind, now pitchers are gaining back the advantage

Ortiz hits his 1000th Red Sox RBI with a Grand slam (9 RBIs in 2 games)

The only thing today did was lessen the Yankee's Wild Card lead to 3 teams. Ortiz returns in 1 game, Lester in 6 days, and Bucholtz in about 2 weeks. Considering all that we're still 12-3 this month.

Philly is the first team to 60 wins. And haha Grill how is a loss a bounce back for Colon? That's 3 straight losses. Sure it's better than .2 innings last week, but hardly a bounce back. It sounds like the early predictions of Colon and Garcia not being able to last pass June are starting to come true. They are 1-5 this month (And that one win is a squeak by against the Mets)

Whatever Gun, as I can find you talking about the Yankees on every page, or actually doing a bitch session on the Yankees....just like the others from RSN...and the only reason you don't want to talk about them...is that there are still playing good....and not sinking like you said...

After seeing Jmart's signature, I did a little break down on the Patriots not winning a playoff game since the Giants beat them in the Super Bowl in 2008 > including the New York Teams beating the Patriots in the Playoffs in 2 out of 3 Years.

Then I was thinking about the Red Sox past histories after their WS wins...which started of course after their 86 year losing streak....how the Red Sox have disappointed the last couple of years...

The Red Sox History after their World Series Wins in 2004 and 2007 aren't much better, as those Championships were followed by either missing the playoffs or bad playoffs losses in the following years.

After a 86 Winless Streak was Finally Broken....

2004 - WS
2005 - Chicago White Sox over Boston Red Sox (3–0) > As the Defending WS Champions!
2006 - NO PLAYOFFS

Well, Makes Sense as they were lucky in 2004!

2007 - WS
2008 - Lost to Tampa in 7 Games - Getting 3 Hits in Game 7!
2009 - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim over Boston Red Sox (3–0)
2010 - No Playoffs

Well Make Sense, since Cleveland should not have blown that 3-1 Lead!

Recap, Years after Boston's WS Wins...

2, Missed Playoffs
2, 3-0 Sweeps
1 Game 7 Loss in the 2nd Round - So only 1 series win in those 5 years!

Says the Yankee fan whose team has lost badly in the playoffs 9 of the last 10 years. PS, no mention on the Seattle game yesterday, yet bash the Red Sox for loosing by one to KC in 14 innings. Losing by 7 by an equally bad team (Well better now that they beat the Yanks) isn't embarassing?

Go ahead and recap the Yanks bet they aren't nearly as close as that...Missing Playoffs and 3-0 Sweep in 1st Series in 4 out of 5 Tries.

Come On, but as usual, you only look at 1 side,

and on the Yankee game, I was waiting for a day to see everyone post....

I am fine with it...

1st they were facing King Felix, who always has the potention to be great...

and best of all, Hughes pitched great for 6 innings, as he is still coming back from missing most of a half season...just like I want Arod for the playoffs....

and the relievers had trouble...but 1 error hurt 1 pitcher and all the relievers have ERAs between 1 and 3...so they have done such a great job this year....and have gotten the Yankees to 3rd best record in baseball...and a clear shot at the playoffs.

I am not going to bitch about 1 bad job, after so many good ones.

PS. On the Red Sox, I wasn't talking about the 1 loss, I was talking about how many runs the Boston pitchers were giving up to those bad teams, Seattle, KC, Baltimore, etc....

That's not one sided at all :disgust:
The point is the Yankees shit and every other team's shit stinks like the Sox, you pointing out the Sox misfires still doesn't negate the fact they have the most wins this decade. And the reason you waited a whole day is because noone dissects ever single game the Yankees win or loose except you. You do it for the Sox as well (For every loss anyway) It's tiresome and completely one sided every time. Can't you just stick with the positives of your team? It's really not that hard.

And that Crawford quote of yours was in response to your first attack on Crawford.

Looking forward to today. Half a game behind philly, lets go Giants!

Beckett is pitching tonight, hopefully he's good, and Crawford is back on Monday, though even though he's hit .333 since getting hot, Reddick is nice, maybe they can bench JD Drew for a while.

Looking good for Texas right now!

Whatever, until the Red Sox get a worthy lead.

And on Crawford and others, so you expect Crawford to pick up where he left off a month ago? Hitting 333 over a short period, or about 240 for the season. Plus, with the hamstring, you have to see how that goes?

Sorry Gun, that you can't take a question. Just like last year, when you said well, if Beckett comes off the DL and wins 8 straight. And I questioned whether that was even possible!

So as you can see above, All I did was question your statement on Crawford. Then you started posting those Crawford stats, but only when he was hot, of course! Now he is back to hitting like shit, and even being benched!

And look a Gun comment on the Yankees, surprise, surprise...well not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! As RSN always talks about the Yankees!

And Gun, only talk about the positives? Guess that is why, RSN only comes on when the Red Sox have won like 7 games in a row. Anyway, as a baseball fan, I can find something to talk about every game I watch...and just like RSN, the Yanks and Red Sox are the most watched teams. And hate to tell you, but it is more interesting to talk about a team when they are going bad or losing...then when they are winning.

Cause who the weak links are, usually shows who doesn't last to the end or the playoffs.

Since I don't want to get more on Gun's Bad Side...and he has such a problem with me talking about the Wild Card, I have to point out to him that he talked about the WildCard, this season...but after only 30 games, not 100 games....

Ok, now, looks like a big weekend for the Yankees with 4 games against Baltimore. Since they have a 7 loss lead on the Angels but only 5 games in the standings.

PS. Looking at those W/C standing, seems like the Red Sox have been beating up all the bad teams for july....so I wonder who they will be playing in August?
