WHAT THE HELL? Something nice? How in the world is that nice? What an idiot... I think it is just a bad idea I guess to do that, but it was never intended to be offensive or racist against anybody. This is total bullshit. Gasol probably planned the whole thing, he looks like a demon. It seems to me Spain has a strong racist subculture of sports fans. The above incident and what happend last year in F1 with Spanish fans dressed in "blackface" to mock Lewis Hamilton.

I think 3 of em were probably 13 or 14, but none were as young as 10 or 11.

Re: Official Summer Olympics 2008 Thread
I think the picture thing was more stupid than racist. It was taken by a marketing company to associate the team with the oriental culture around the games. Sort of like if the Olympics were in Mexico and they took some marketing pictures of a team dressed in sombreros and eating tacos. This is worse because it's a direct racial thing, but I don't think the intent was THAT bad. It was a dumb mistake, but I think it's been blown out of proportion a bit. Neostorm wrote: I expect Calderone is going to get booed pretty bad when he returns to play for the Raptors.... What a loser. The 5 people booing will be drowned out by the 20,000 who don't care or have forgotten about this story by then.

Canada's chance at an actual medal tonight (yes, an actual medal) was ruined because Mike Brown sucks and got in 4th (after a terrific semi-final performance). Lovely!
Peace, Mike

Although Canada has always been, relatively speaking, strong in rowing, and I was watching some great early performances in the rowing competitions by the Canadians. I expect a medal to come from there, somewhere, in the finals! Hehe.
Peace, Mike

We're all winners!
Maybe if Toronto can get the games in...2028 or 2032... We'll build some programs for summer athletes similar to the Own the Podium program for Vancouver 2010 and win a medal or two in the first week of competition.

Yeah had a feeling he'd win it was real close though. he barely won. Sullivan of Australia was leading going into the turn but for some reason he lost it coming out of the turn.
