Awesome job for the Pens! I'm glad I watched the game tonight. I did not expect a Pens blowout. If anything, I was sort of thinking it could be a Caps blowout. There were too many close games to not have something like that tonight, and that's what happened.

Now on to the Conference Finals. I'm not sure who to hope for.

Pens are 4-0 all time on the road in game 7's.

Let's give credit where credit is due though: Pittsburgh AND Washington, for six great, close games. I mean, the NHL dreams of series with that much excitement. Of course it would be a disappointing finish, but they had a series full of classic playoff hockey. Even the big Game Seven win for the Pens adds that much more to the history of this whole series.

Of course, all seven games were great to me, but I can see why they wouldn't be for some.

Good start. We should've prevented Carolina's power play from going in, but I liked the Bruins effort in the first. We need to keep it up and just be more careful when going after the puck (like not leaving our feet).

If the Bruins lose this game they'll be looking back on the power play. 0-4 so far and they've been barely able to put the puck on net. They've hardly taken any chances.

Oh well. They had plenty of chances. They just couldn't put the puck in the net. And of course it had to be Walker. I would've even preferred Samsonov to Walker.

I can't say I'm exactly disappointed though. It was a good year. They finally advanced past the first round and almost came back to win the series. And the nice thing? They did it with a lot of inexperience. Recchi, Thornton, Yelle (and I'm forgetting one other person), were really the only players on the team who had experience outside of the first round. They just need to pick up another veteran while still managing to hang on to Kessel and Krejci (I think he was the other free agent).

Is it possible we can just skip ahead to the finals and give Detroit their cup already?

I think if Detroit beats Chicago, then Detroit is pretty much definitely winning the cup. Carolina and Pittsburgh are both too uneven. If Chicago wins, I think Chicago also fares a good shot. Seems like the cup will go to a Western conference team to me, at this moment, most likely Detroit.

Pittsburgh underestimated Carolina after the 2-0 lead early in the game. They better not do that again. They barely escaped with victory.
