 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Next game is against New Orleans who happen to be only a half game up on them.
But none of it really matters. The Rockets could win 25 in a row, climb to first place in the west, and still easily end up being the 8th seed when the playoffs start.

Wow, dammit Ford. Hopefully we get rid of him this summer, I don't want a selfish player like that on our team. He's really taken it to another level since being put on the bench.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
I love playing Washington... it seems like every game has an overtime or exciting finish, and the energy is always there between the teams. I love games like that, even if they've beat us in the close games lately.
We might actually fall to 6th if the West trip without Bosh goes horriblly, I might prefer that actually because I think we stand a shot against Orlando. I don't want to be passed by like Philadelphia or something though.

This Phoenix and Utah game is pretty awesome... Phoenix being the edge of DOOM makes it all the more exciting.

Late in the 4th, Duncan Ginobli and Parker are on the bench.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Rockets now tied for 4th longest winning streak of all time with 80s Celtics, 90s Bulls, and 1969 Knicks. Shaq's Lakers got 19. Kareem Bucks got 20. Wilt's Lakers got 33. 2nd longest winning streak ever? Just have to beat New Jersey, Atlanta, and Charlotte to do it.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
And 9th straight game by double digits. To think if they hadn't lost those three home games in Jan (two with McGrady out, one with Yao out)...
This is a great win, with Landry out too. McGrady played 48 minutes; I just hope he doesn't break down.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Totally different situation because of the vast difference in expectations. Dallas came off a final's appearance and was at full strength with the No. 1 seed going into the playoff; while with Rockets, even if they win 25 straight, you'll still hear people saying "wait until the playoff; they're pretender because no way they could succeed without Yao in the playoff." Continuing the winning streak after Yao went down increases the respect, but not the expectation; people will continue to dismiss them as a possible title contender, rightfully so given the injury and McGrady's history. So it will be considered a success as long as they win a series; actually even if they get home-court, I don't think most pundits will pick them in the first round unless it's against the Nuggets, so regardless how they bow out, it will not be considered a choke.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
How can they order a doover for the game when O'Neal isn't around to play for the Heat? They could only reset it with the exact same situation (5 fouls for Shaq) How is that even possible? Did someone else get Shaq's five fouls?

They beat Golden State a couple days ago, along with us and Washington.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
great job by the Suns, especially on defense. That's the chemistry they were hoping for. Actually if Barbosa made a few more of his wide open 3s, they could've won that game rather easily.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Just one game behind now, and by the time they play the Lakers, it could be with No. 1 seed on the line (requires Lakers to lose a couple of games before then though).

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
If the playoffs started today, it'd be Lakers vs Golden State, Spurs vs Mavs, Rockets vs Suns, and New Orleans vs Utah. Best first round of any conference ever? I like watching all 8 of those teams and that's just the dream matchup line. The one team that bores me (the Nuggets) will probably be out.

All the talk here in Az i everyone is back on the Suns bandwagon. It's hilarious. I've said this trade will work since it happened. People said the Suns were doomed less than 24 hours ago, and now everyone says they look great.

And Lakers lost. Only 4.5 games separate first and 8th!

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
aw man, now Kobe's gonna be pissed when we come to the Staples on Tuesday. Not that we wouldn't get killed without Bosh anyways, but this will make it more sad. Kobe branded us as his whipping up 2 Januarys ago and hasn't stopped the onslaught since.
