Sox only need to win 2 of 5 to make it to the playoffs so they can go out in the first round!!

Today could very well determine who makes the playoffs and who doesn't   .

The only team that can get away with a loss today is the White Sox, only because they are two games up.

If I were White Sox, I wouldn't want to go into Cleveland only up 1 game since then I have to win 2 out of 3 there to secure. So it's very important to win the final 2 games against Detroit.

Being not a particular fan of any team in AL, I'd love to see a 4-way tie at the end. Actually, throw Angels in there too and have all 5 teams finish with the same record: 95-67.

It's very possible we could be seeing some teams playing a 163rd game this season.

Pressure made people tight, and look like we have three very tight teams, at least for tonight early on: 1 run in 13 innings combined.

If both Boston and New York lose, they'll be 92-66. Considering that one of the teams will lose 2 or more games, the best that team can go is 94-68 (and the other obviously clinches the AL East). A win tonight and tomorrow will guarentee that Cleveland at least has a contention game later.

Fuck that left fielder.

of course NY just tied the game and Chicago is now leading Detroit 3-1......surprise surprise. and here we have the indians, getting shut down by a pitcher who had a 16.40 era in his last 2 starts.....wow

Shapiro's inability to get a RF who can hit like a RF is one of the big reasons this offense is prone to slumps.

Weird. Why Cleveland has so much trouble against Devil Rays at home? They haven't beaten them once at home this season, have they?

doesn't matter who they play. they could be playing a high school team and find a way to lose. they always lose big games. and the beat goes on....

We have to hope Boston loses. Tonight (likely) and the series against New York. Or else...

Hmmph.

Boston wins tomorrow, they're 93-66. If New York loses tomorrow, same record. If Cleveland wins, same record. So, if one of the teams goes 1-2, and we can take 1 from Chicago, we've got a contention game. If we can take 2 from Chicago, we're the wild card.

I dunno, there's still a shot. Otherwise -

well, to be fair, the Rays have won these big games all fucking year. But...

FUCK

no runs? honestly? come the fuck on. How is that even possible. Boone can't bunt, Blake can't drive anybody in, and nobody else seems to want to do anything. Division is out. It's a two man sack race between us and the Boston Red Sox to the end.
