Re: WOKJ 12' NFL Fantasy League Playoffs Set!
Missed the playoffs for the 3rd straight year but still had a great time. I Finished with the #1 seed in one of my other Public leagues with a 9-5 record. What amazing is that all four teams had a 9-5 record and seeding had to be determined by points and I squeaked it out by 0.20!
On a Side note I'm going to experiment with the settings a little over the next couple of minutes just to see how things would have turned out if settings were different. Everything will be put back to normal so don't worry.

the scoring definitely needs fixing, btw.
i know smurfs is probably sad that lil' breezy only got him 11 points...but the fact that lil' breezy got 11 points at all is ridiculous. how do you get 11 points throwing 5 interceptions and 0 touchdowns? in my other league, that's 3.6 points!
clearly, an interception deserves more weight than simply two 'incompletions' for a qb or two 'tackles' for a defensive player. a tackle or incompletion itself does not result in a turnover; a fumble or an interception does.
here are my suggested changes in all areas, however crazy: 1) eliminate completion/ incompletion bonuses for qb's 2) eliminate yardage bonuses for qb's -- or, at least raise it to 300 yds (case in point -- drew brees got a yardage bonus today; matt ryan did not. those 10 pts made up for his 5 interceptions, putting both qb's even at 11 pts) 3) switch qb pass yardage earning from 50 yds/pt to 25 yds/pt 4) equalize points lost for a qb sack/ points gained for a defensive player sack at -2/2 (currently -1/3 or -1/2, respectively?) 5) make a 'defensive/ special teams' unit reflective of the title of the positions -- and allow for special team touchdowns 6) stop giving special team yardage credit to offensive roster players 7) make rushing and receiving TDs worth 8 pts (+2 over a passing TD) 8) increase value of a defensive player interception vis-a-vis a sack (it should be the same as the points from a fumble -- 1 for the fumble, 2 for the recovery, for 3 total)
oh, and add game-time waivers and add trade review so we don't have to deal with fair stuff being rejected and causing a cycle of rejections and for the record, there's a good chance i lose my place next season anyway since magnus likely won't rejoin, so you can ignore all these comments too Here are the Season standings if we implemented the above suggestions: Playoff teams would stay the same just different seeding *1. Hernandez'd 10-4 ( +1 in standings, No change in # of wins, total points -86) *2. Namaste. 10-4 ( +2 in standings, Tie becomes a win, total points -46) *3. alexcuse 10-4 ( -3 in standings, -2 in # of wins, total points -140) *4. Going2BALongSeason 10-4 ( -1 in standings, No change in the # of wins, total points -91) 5. Pure Animosity 9-5 ( +1 in standings, +1 in #wins) 6. trix are for kids 8-6 ( -1 in standings, -1 in # of wins) 7. Any Given Sunday 7-7 (No change in standings, +1 in # of wins) 8. The Cursed Season 6-8 (No change in standings, +1 in # of wins) 9. The Smurfs 5-9 (No change) 10. McMeowski 4-10 (No change in standings, -1 in # of wins) 11. Xholos 4-10 (No change) 12. League of Shadows 1-13 (No change) Here's were we would be in a standard Yahoo league with no defensive players, bonuses, or PPR: Major shake up in the playoff seedings- *1. Hernandez'd 11-3 (+1) *2. Going2BALongSeason 11-3 (+1) *3. Namaste. 9-5 (+1) *4. trix are for kids 9-5 ( +1, and would make the playoffs) 5. alexcuse 8-6 ( -4 and missing the playoffs) 6. Any Given Sunday 7-7 7. The Smurfs 6-8 8. Pure Animosity 6-8 9. The Cursed Season 5-9 10. McMeowski 5-9 11. League of Shadows 4-10 (+3 wins ) 12. Xholos 3-11

Re: WOKJ 12' NFL Fantasy League Playoffs Set!
i think you goofed changing the settings back, because now i'm 9-5, instead of 9-4-1. i think qb sacks are -1 in our league, not -2.
anyway, i like either of the settings. but i know i'm in the minority.

Re: WOKJ 12' NFL Fantasy League Playoffs Set!
Right. Under the old settings, I was 9-4-1. Now I'm 9-5. It's because Thug didn't change the QB sack score back to -1. Because it's set to -2, I now lost to trixster. Doesn't really matter, but would be cool for it to be accurate!

Re: WOKJ 12' NFL Fantasy League Playoffs Set!
cool
i woulda been 13-1 had i made the following choices. with Chip being my only loss
wk 5 - playing Carson Palmer (ON HIS BYE; aka 0 pts) over Cam Newton...or, no stat correction wk 6 - playing Jason Witten over Tony onzalez, or Josh Gordon over Mike Wallace wk 9 - playing Malcom Floyd or Torrey Smith over Jonathan Stewart wk 12 - playing Cam Newton over Philip Rivers
my concern is that my team is pretty stable b/w the 210-220 point range. I've only fallen under 200 once, and never below 190. I've also never hit 250+. alex has missed 200 four times, but he's also hit 250 three times. Looks like it woulda been a good week for Mike Wallace.

Yeah, I'd change my vote in the poll if I could.

I also like 2 O + 1 D. Just wanted to make sure we didn't get three offensive keepers, thus voted for 2 in the poll.

Keeper for next year looks decided:
2- Offensive 1- Defensive
Question on the Defensive is it only individual players or are team defenses included too?

Re: WOKJ 12' NFL Fantasy League Playoffs Set!
Can't believe I'm leaning towards starting Colin kaepernick in the playoffs over either josh freeman (in a great matchup) or Aaron Rodgers, but he seems like the safer pick given how poorly the other two has performed recently.
Very conflicted on who to start in other positions, eg. Starting Brandon Marshall whose only really bad week this season was against GB and cj sproles did badly last week with hard matchup this week, while several potential breakout players currently sitting on my bench.

I was THIS close to starting Andy Dalton over Matt Ryan.
THIS CLOSE.
