Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
The Red Sox also so far own the Yankees this season, so I am not worried. The Sox will be getting all of their injured players after the break (Crawford, Lester, and Bucholtz) and push ahead. The Yankees have two players with health issues in Arod and Riveria so they have something to be worried about right now.

And I mentioned Robertson! Yup, the same Robertson that just made the All Star Team!!!!!!!!!!!!! and who knows how the week off will treat Rivera, as even with his tired arm, he only has had a questionable week. as his year so far has been great. and are you really wanting Crawford and his sub 250 average back. Plus lets see, how the other injured return.... PS. As to the Red Sox Great Start vs the Yankees in 2011, Remember 2009, when the Red Sox started out like 8-0 against the Yankees. Then the Yankees came back to tie at 9-9 and yes win the 2009 World Series.

And yes I said the orioles, and there still not in the worst of posititions, there hanging in and can still move up. Most experts picked the orioles over the Yankees too, as they looked to have one of their best years, while the Yankees are rebuilding. I think most expect the Yankees to do well in the beginning of the year, its the later months where most still think they will struggle. They desperately need Hughes back, otherwise CC will be overworked as well. PS Gun. My ridiculous opinions on the Yankees, Tampa, Orioles, Crawford, Yankee Starting Pitchers, Yankee Relievers, Robertson over Joba, etc....has been pretty good through half the year and counting.

Hey Gun, How are you feeling about the Yankees, they're looking pretty good as of late!Just wondering if you or your so called experts are convinced yet that the Yankees are going to make it through the season, as now I think they have a 5 game lead in the WildCard.... and still tied with the Red Sox, 35 losses each!

Gun was not the "expert" that he was talking about.

I'm not an expect, I just use fact over opinion. As to me not responding, I'm trying to stay on topic, I'll overlook the 7 incorrect things you've said already in the last 2 days.
Looking forward to the Derby tonight, so far it feels more exciting than years past.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
That was awesome, Cano and Gonzalez were monsters, and Cano winning from his father. Papi's AL team was ridiculous. I liked the new style a lot.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
Only watched the 1st 2 rounds of the Home Run Derby, as I had to go somewhere.
Thoughts....
Too many players who shouldn't be there! Not Home Run Hitters.
Really Surprised Ortiz/Fielder/Holliday didn't put on a better showing. Kindof weak night for the Big Guys.
Really surprised that Gonzalez couldn't hit that 1 Homer to win the 2nd Round. Think he went homerless on his last 3 or 4 attempts.
Really suprised that none of the big guys were able to equal the power that Cano showed in either Rounds 1, 2 or 3. Not even for the whole Night. Just 1 Long Homer to top Cano, who is just a second baseman! Did you see the tv shots of Ortiz during Cano's Homers. Even he was going crazy!
Lastly, Big Congrats to Cano. A Very Deserving Win. Showing Power & Consistency!

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
Win the 2nd round? Huh? Consistency? Gonzales hit 9, 11 and 11. Cano hit 8, 12 and 12. And 11 in the finals had only been done TWICE before. Don't be an idiot. Cano and Gonzales, as said in the telecast, have the most pure swings in the game.
Congrats to Ortiz for picking a monster team.

Congrats to Ortiz for picking a monster team. Look I was surprised that Gonzalez couldn't hit 1 more homer to tie/win the 2nd round at 12 or more...and to also beat the tie with Cano at 20. Lastly, it would have been better if he hit after Cano. But anyway, stop your complaining as I only critized Gonzalez for that...unlike the other big men, like Ortiz, who couldn't match Cano's power. >>> Really surprised that Gonzalez couldn't hit that 1 Homer to win the 2nd Round. Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
Why would he want to "win" the 2nd round? That makes no sense. It had no bearing on ANYTHING. And yes, Cano obviously has more power than Ortiz! I mean, just look at their HR numbers this year and over their careers! Cano crushes him!

He even seemed mad at missing the last couple of balls.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
Supposely the decision on Ortiz charging the mound will be handed out on Thursday.
Curious what they do about the pitcher. As I don't think the pitcher should get anything. He threw 3 pitches inside, that didn't even cause Ortiz to move. Then he yelled at Ortiz, nothing worse than hundreds of others do on the field.
Hopefully MLB, will have the balls to do nothing to the pitcher. Especially since unlike Lackey and the Boston rookie on Sunday, each of them actually hit 2 batters each.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
wel at least Ortiz is gone for 4 games, as he started it with comments after Ball 3, and then charging the mound on the 4th pitch.
Also on the ruling.....
Stupid ruling by MLB.
By not mentioning the reason that Lackey wasn't suspended, shows this is a BS ruling.
If Lackey got suspended for hitting, 2 guys, then the ruling could be seen as fairer!

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
So Boston and New York still running close...with Boston at 36 Losses and Yankees at 37.
And alittle bit of revenge as Ortiz, who appealled his suspension, went 0-4 with 2 Strikeouts.

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
So CC wins #14 Today, giving up 3 hits and 1 run in 8 innings. And Rivera gets a good save, hoping his arm is OK.
Next Up, Lets see how Lackey does against Tampa Bay!

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
how'd we do Grill! No mention of the 24 runs scored against the Yanks the last 3 games?
Good luck Texas! longest win streak of the year is on the line, Phillies no matter how awesome they are got lit up last night. The Highlights were so bizarre, I never saw so many dumb plays. Sox have a chance to be #1 team in baseball today with 5 starters gone, We need some back though, The loss of Beckett, Bucholtz, and Lester is not leaving me too positive, but our hitting is really saving us now, I think we are averaging 7.5 runs a game now.
