Not sure if England will have enough firepower without Rooney.

Rooney's absence was certainly noticeable.

Both sides were pretty equal, England's defense won them the game with all the deflections and blocks.

Halftime of Ukraine/Sweden, and it's been great to watch. Action in both ends.

This may be the first boring game of the tournament. Both are defensive teams without many technical players. Going to wait for the Netherlands/Germany match.

A rather one-sided match so far.

Germany deserves to win this game.

Pretty fun that after two groups complete their second matches, no team is eliminated yet, and no team has advanced either.

Indeed, though the chances of Germany not advancing or of Netherlands advancing are EXTREMELY slim now.

Between the two, the chance of Netherlands advancing is better though since 1) Germany is a better team than Denmark 2) having not advanced yet should at least make Germany try to give a good effort instead of playing a lot of subs. It would have been better if Portugal beat Denmark 1:0 instead of 3:2 since as it stands now, Netherlands needs to beat Portugal by 2 goals, but it's still within their ability. I think they need to start out with the second half lineup against Germany though.

Germany flirted with disaster a little there; Denmark had a couple of great chances to go up 2:1. But at least they didn't give the game away like Russia did.

Impressed with Portugal so far. They should be favored in the next round.

Post Re: Euro 2012 (Starting!)
The Poland vs. Czech Republic match was so mind-numbingly boring.

Anyway, I agree that Germany was a bit shaky in the second half. Consistently better than Denmark, thoguh which was apparently content with defending with their entire team and only attempting a goal if a lucky opportunity presents itself instead of forcing their chances. They deserved to go out.

And no one should forget that Germany will be the only team in the entire group phase to have won ALL THREE matches. And that despite being in the Death group. Greece will be a non-issue and then I see either England or Italy facing us in Semi-Finals which is also more than doable.

That leads me to a conclusion of a Germany/Spain re-match in the finale and that would really be up in the air.

It's shocking that the Netherlands is out. Bad luck with the group. They could have easily owned each team in Group A.

Germany vs Greece grudge match. Should be fun.

Ronaldo finally delivered big.
