Booh cheataly. With members of the team and even the national coach involved in a betting scandal, I hope they'll make a quick exit

Well we man-handled Colombia today and will easily win our group, but that's only one side of the medal. Team Germany is able to slaughter weak nations, but once the tasks get higher and the teams get stronger, we're out

According to Sports Illustrated, only 9 percent of Germans think Germany will win...Thought they would be a little more confident..

Why are all these warm ups being played at Old Traqfford!? I keep getting caught in the bloody traffic. Personally I think all football for the whole of a given four year period should be played in the world cup hosts country. Give my bloody parking space a break. :disgust:

Brazilian legend Pele urged England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson not to rush Wayne Rooney into a premature return from injury for the World Cup.

Did anyone catch the article in SI, where they said that Pele said that Ronaldhino could be the greatest ever?

34 hours until kickoff. Anybody wants to start a prediction pool? Something like 2 points for each game's outcome and 1 extra point for predicting the exact score? We could increase the weight for the elimination rounds too.

Sounds good but... who will keep score?

Re: Rooney. He is a very good player, even a great one. But the greatest ever? Gimme a break...

Obviously not right now, but has the potential. More chance than many others out there, Same with young Messi.

I don´t agree, in fact, I don´t think any striker can´be the greatest ever (not involved in the game enough). Also, he depends too much on speed... when he starts losing it in his late 20´s, then what?

Still, a fantastic player. But not Pele´s succesor material at all, IMO.

It wasn't really a serious suggestion. ;)

Though, I disagree that he relies too much on speed. He is quick, but think his strenghts are 'strongness', shooting, ball control...and then speed.

In other news, T-23,11.
