But anyway on the Yanks, very good as 15 Playoffs in 16 Years. So if you want to talk Yanks, how many World Series do you think they will win in the next 10 Years. And will they sign Cliff Lee?

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
For the NL Cy Young, Doc Halliday got all the first place votes to win the Cy Young. That was easy. The AL Cy Young could be a little trickier. CC looks like the choices that comes to people's mind with his wins, but statistics can go against him, along with nothing but offensive support. Although Bartolo Colon won the Cy Young with 21 wins and a bloated ERA.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Wow, Bud Black wins NL Manager of the Year by only 1 points over Dusty Baker. Way to go Buddy.
And another wow, Gardenhire finally wins the AL Manager of the Year after being snubbed so many times. I thought Washington had this one. I guess they factored the injuries to Morneau and Nathan into this.

Bump for later. As another bad awards choice just like Mauer and Lincecum in previous years.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Yep, King Felix wins the AL Cy Young over CC.
I think they got this one right, cause aside from the win-loss stat, Statistically, Felix was the best pitcher in the AL as he was 2nd in ERA and K's, 1st in WHIP, complete games, and quality starts. The only reason he was only 13-12 cause he had no run support (in fact, 8 of his losses came from the Mariners scoring no runs). CC had nothing but run support. At least my boy Weaver got some attention (ranking 5th).

I would like to see what the overall ERA difference is between Yankee Stadium and Seattle's Stadium. And King Felix, never had pressure on him as he just went out and pitched without the pressure of a playoff race. CC saved the Yankee season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially when the All Star Petitte was lost to injury for almost the whole 2nd half of the season after an 11 - 2 start!!!!!! So CC had the pressure of holding up the other 4 Yankee pitchers, who were a mess. And CC came through with like 15 straight wins!!!!!!!! And you know CC was facing the other teams best pitchers, when the other manager could swing the pitching change. And like the last 4 years, CC was called on to pitch on 3 day rest a number of times. And I think only Price has less losses than CC for a regular stater. so whatever, on your not respecting CC's year.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
I knew it. Joey Votto is the NL MVP. I knew he would win it cause unlike Pujols and CarGo, he lifted his team to the playoffs, which may have affected the voting.

Not on my computer so can't check stats. Hear that Levy. So my only comment is that, this is the opposite of what they did with the AL CY Young.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
A pitcher who is unbelievably good can have an average record if his team sucks. An average pitcher can have a good record with a great team behind him. CY Young is about stats and shows how good a PITCHER is.
The MVP is usually the best player on a great team.

The MVP is usually the best player on a great team. Really. So for starters, how come players have won MVP on bad teams?

So please, back up your statement with facts. Not at all Really. But since I made a typo I will answer. There probably have been 100 with non winning teams to last place teams. Pujolis, Ryan Howard, Andre Dawson, Dave kingman, Ernie Banks are some off the top of my head.

Re: 2010 Major League Baseball Discussion
Pujols, never won the MVP on a losing team. Howard, was not on a losing team when he won the MVP. Andre Dawson WAS on a losing team. Dave Kingman never won an MVP award. Ernie Banks was also on a losing team when he won.
So... 2/5. Hooray for you! And both before 1988.

So you want some recents ones. OK as I love proving you wrong.
Arod in 2003 I think and Ryan Howard in 2006.
Like I said there are lots.

Ryan Howard was not on a losing team in 2006. Still.
