Actually I think the final will be Germany - Russia. Russia will want to avenge their first round defeat.

Well, they didn't have Arshavin then, one outstanding player.

Italy are saved by their defense but its useless in the end if you can't score.

Italians only survived because of their great defense. It's their defense that allows them to win as they eventually score a goal and then put like 10 people in front of their net.. That was their plan. Its like how the beat the Germans last time in WC 2006.

Usually this allows Italy to beat any team unless they have a good defense as well. Spain had a solid defense especially from the long haired young guy. He was the best player of the game imo.

However Spain should have handily won but could not finish but they won where it counts. Imo Italy really were playing crappy offense. Like Spain had 2 guys on Toni and yet you try and try again to get a header!!

So Spain won and deserving. Italy played bad offense but great defense. Well they at least they are not facing embarrassment.

Spain Imo does not have a weakness.

The Germans have a bad defense though. Its true, they are like the Netherlands but they at least can score.


So Spain has the defensive edge and Germany the Offensive edge.

Wow, never knew soccer was that dominant. Soccer does take over the world and you in the places where it is not dominant it is still hugely popular.

The 2006 WC final had almost 4.55 million viewers in Canada. The last hockey Stanley Cup finals for the last three years got 3 million at most. So even in Hockey crazed Canada, the WC of soccer has more viewers then the Hockey finals. Of course the Olympic Hockey game had like 16 million viewers.

I was in India and cricket dominates there but everyone was watching the finals when I was there.
