What a wild ending to the Angel Game. But Scottie will probably fill you in.
And another Great Yankee Win. #1 Team in the AL at the All-Star Break? Anyway, a Yankee World Series win, would continue a nice Yankee Run, even though they were surprised last year in the playoffs.
Yankees: 2009 World Championship, 2010 Playoffs, Lost in League Championship Round, 2011 World Championship?

Well truthfully, it was a hard call for the ump to make. I even heard the Angels call and they blasted the ump. IMO, the ump couldn't be looking at 2 places at the same time, as he needed to see the leg touching home and when the catcher touched the player. Anyway, the thing that I think happened was the ump saw the leg get through, and then he went to see if the catcher made the tag yet. As the ball got there late, I think that is why he called him safe. And yes, the player never touched the plate, but when he got his leg through and came close, that screwed the Angels, but there are so many bang bang plays that umps miss.

Really Enjoying Today's Games.
Yankees Destroying the Brewers and Cliff Lee and the Philies banging up Josh Beckett and the Red Sox.
PS. Tampa, my WildCard Pick, over Boston, is making a run at Boston, and might overtake them this week?

Last Night's game was a circus (7 errors combined), but still happy with the win. The sad part was that the losing pitcher was my cousin (Collin Balester). Still, it was great to see him pitch live and I got to meet him again.

Another great baseball day. Yankees Win. Red Sox Lose.
Anyway, this is usually what Red Sox Fans get during the Summer. The Hopes Start to die, and New York just keeps on rolling towards another Playoff or World Series.
PS. I told you guys that the Red Sox would have trouble in the NL.

By NL, I'm assuming you mean "The Best Team in Baseball: The Phillies"

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
2 Good Early Games Today!
BOS: J. Lester (9-4, 3.66) PHI: C. Hamels (9-4, 2.49) MIL: R. Wolf (6-4, 3.20) NYY: C. Sabathia (10-4, 3.25)
Edit:
Well 1 Good Game, as Yankees win with a 5-0 Shut-Out. #13 for Mr. CC Rider!
and the Boston Game got ruined when Hamels got hurt while pitching a Shut-Out.
Too Bad as I would have liked to have seen what would have happened between Lester and Hamels.

Just saw that both the Phillies and Yankees have 31 Losses, Best in MLB by 3/4 games.
Maybe the World Series Opponents?

Anyway on the Yankees....Best Team over the last couple years2009 - World Series Champions 2010 - Best Record in Baseball & Only Upset in the League Conf. Series 2011 - Tied with Phillies for Lowest Losses in the MLB (Which even Silenced the Members of RSN on KJ!) Not to mention 15 Playoffs in 16 Years and 5 World Series Championship in 15 Years.

How many times have the Yankees been to the WS since 2002?

Not Really sure how what has happened in the last 10 years, has anything to do with who is the Best Now or in the last couple Years (as don't you know how much teams change over 10 years) So Again, as this is more important then your little question! New York Yankees, Best Team over the last couple years. 2009 - World Series Champions 2010 - Best Record in Baseball & Only Upset in the League Conf. Series 2011 - Tied with Phillies for Lowest Losses in the MLB (Which even Silenced the Members of RSN on KJ!) PS. As per your question, How would you describe the Boston Red Sox who have won 2 World Series since 1919 or 2 in the Last 91 Years? One of the Worst Sports Teams Ever?!

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
No.
And it has a lot to do with the question. The Yankees are good every year. If they made it to the WS every year, then they would be the favorites to make it this year. But that has not been the case recently. So, it is doubtful that they'll make it this year. Considering the fact this year they are not as good as last year.

Weaver is still adding on to his Cy Young caliber year. He should start the All Star game.

No Offense but I wish some would start looking at stat and record pages before they start making statements about their team. And this includes Chippy and all the Boston fans who only come on the board when they are winning, and never when they are losing or to say anything that is wrong with their team. (Really surprised that the Red Sox fans haven't showed up to brag about 2 wins in a row, as they have taken 2 from the worst team in MLB!) Anyway, he and Justin Verlander are worthy choices for All Star starter, as both have similar numbers. Becket would be in this group, but 6 wins in 15 starts knocks him out. Also it should be interesting if Beckett makes the team? Best ERA but at least 10 pitchers are better than his 6-3 record, as Lester will already be on the team. For Cy Young, lots of choices right now....http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/stats/bycat ... 1&sort=100

Weaver should not start the All Star game. And it's not even close.
And Verlander will be winning the Cy Young, unless he has a second half of the season collapse (Not gonna happen)

Re: 2011 Major League Baseball Discussion
Hey, I mentioned some the losses my team had here.
Also, congrats to Scioscia for not being the all time Manager leader for interleague games won. And it's about time Brayan hit the homerun.
Back to the CY Young, yes, it will be close between Weaver, Verlander, and even Beckett. I think Weaver may start since Verlander is scheduled to pitch next Sunday, and according to the rules, if you pitch the Sunday before the break, you cannot pitch in the All Star Game.

Boston is having a tough game, as they aren't playing the worst team in baseball anymore. Losing 9-4 in the 8th.
