Onto more serious news: Semin and Green need to wake the fuck up and play some hockey. Semin was playing well in the second, Green's been a zombie all game. Has he even taken a single shot?

We are such a weird ugly team.

But our "attack the guy on the opposing team with the puck, shoot the puck if you've got it" approach seems to be working. Very rarely do we actually "look" like a team.

Have I mentioned before that I know Bettman's daughter personally and she's a nasty skank jap with an obnoxious voice and ughhhhhh.

And, in addition, I've heard Bettman speak about a gazillion times (he's an alum of my program at Cornell)...he's not the kind of guy who'd be jumping up and down. I've never slept better.

I think it's clear from this series that Malkin cracks under pressure.

Varlamov has been as good as Fleury, and Pitt can't get by on Crosby alone (who, again, has scored 4 of their 5 goals...so we'll be blocking him better on Wednesday anyway). I think we've got a good chance. Plus, Crosby's the diva -- he'll need his beauty sleep more than we will between Friday and Saturday.

Yeah, Malkin hasn't impressed me, ever. MVP material? I think not. Crosby's clearly the best player on that team.

The game was ridonkulous.

Caps

Considering the Caps' colours were blue and brown and white until like... two years ago, yeah, it's impressive.

Malkin has a lot of secondary assists and gimme goals. His stats are grossly inflated. Crosby's more of a clutch performer.

Ovechkin should and probably will be MVP. Considering none of the Caps' other stars have even shown up in this series, the fact that they're up 2-0 is all on him.

I just hope Pittsburgh can come back so the series lasts longer.

I don't think Varlamov really counts as a star. He'd played in what, six games before the playoffs?

Two big assumptions there. Considerig A. the two games so far have been decided by one goal, and B. Boston was shut out by Carolina in Game Two, I wouldn't bet all my dough on your pairing.

If the Pens can snatch the next two games, they might pull out everything they have to win Game 5 in Washington. Don't count them out just yet.

Are you kidding? He's been great here. Especially considering the Caps' defense.

And while none of the goals he allowed yesterday were amazing/sweet shots, they should've been taken care of by the defense.

The way I see it, if the Pens were going to lose two straight games in this series, better be the first two and not Games 3 and 4. If they had won last night, I could've seen them getting confident/lazy and fucking themselves right out of the series. But now they're going to work hard to ensure two big wins for their home audience.

Of course, this is all moot if they lose tomorrow night. And I do realize I'm pleading Pittsburgh's case to a few Caps fans, but I must vent my feelings somewhere.
