 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
It's one thing to get into a scuffle in the heat of the moment in a game. It's another to do what 96 on the Vikings did. Seriously, kicking a guy in the groin? What an ass.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Fucking Cobb. First a fumble and then a horrible drop, ruining Rodgers' completion streak.

Oakland really needs this bye.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Christian Ponder's numbers don't look good, but he showed promise today.
That "late hit" call on Clay Matthews was a horrible call.
The Packers need to clean up the yards they give up on defense.
Aaron Rodgers is awesome.

I know most will say "You're a Rodgers hater"... I am... but...
The Packers have played some TERRIBLE secondaries this season. Can you imagine what Rodgers would do to his OWN secondary!?

Well, I don't think so anymore. San Diego has looked poor this season and has struggled. Rivers just doesn't look the same. The Chargers might have trouble beating the Chiefs not to mention the Packers.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
I actually thought Minnesota did a very good job in coverage against the Packers (aside from the one long play to Jennings on the broken coverage). Rodgers had to hold onto the ball a lot longer than normal today. Also, 4 of Rodgers 6 incomplete passes today were a spike, two drops, and an intentional throwaway due to coverage. There is not a more accurate passer in the league than Rodgers.

Yeah their record looks good but they have barely won most of their games. They played awful the last time they played KC. If they play like that again they are in some trouble. They also should have blown out Denver that game should have never been that close, and they let Miami hang around the whole game. They haven't had a complete game all season. The problem is Gates and Jackson are both very banged up and their defense is not as good this year.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Green Bay can't run the ball consistently, and their O-line is not good. And their secondary is terrible outside of Woodson (most of the time).

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Green Bay will lose but the Chargers won't beat them. It will probably be Detroit who takes them down. And Man New Orleans is kicking the shit out of Indy right now. Brees is out of there and they are still scoring points.

I think the Colts have just given up on the season. They could go 0-16.

Chippy wrote: Green Bay can't run the ball consistently, and their O-line is not good. And their secondary is terrible outside of Woodson (most of the time). Green Bay doesn't need to run the ball consistently, but they do run the ball fine when it matters. The O-line is better than I would expect with two fill ins. But it could be a lot better. It's good enough for a mobile QB like Rodgers though. Everyone on the Packers secondary has the ability to, and has, made big plays. Rarely are the players out of position. I think the problem is the pass coverage scheme. Another problem is the linebackers aren't getting enough pressure on the QB. We lack that second LB play maker opposite Matthews, which makes it a lot harder to cover the receivers. I have no doubt the Packers will lose at some point. But the only teams that I actually fear playing are New Orleans (who we already beat but are basically the same caliber team as the Packers), and New England. That's not to say others can't beat the Packers, and I hope someone does so that the "perfect season" thing doesn't become a distraction.

Anybody else tired of this Tim Tebow miracle finish talk? He did just beat the awful Miami Dolphins. I bet they will get their asses kicked next week against the Lions. I still don't think he can make it in the NFL.

Almost half of first take was about him. Really a team that won't make the playoffs get most of the time today. However, I loved seeing him eat crow about Oklahoma today.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
Could this be the worst MNF game in history? Judging by the box score, it appears to be.

 Re: 2011 NFL Discussion
It is pretty bad from an offensive standpoint. The Ravens offense is just horrible. I am not sure why people think they are the best team. Flacco looks worse than Sanchez right now.
Edit So will the baseball game have a higher score? This is awful. Baltimore only has 4 yards and it is almost halftime.
