Hindsight is 20/20, but maybe Girardi should have pulled Pettitte after he gave up the single to Abreu

maybe but not sure if Joba was ready as he just got up. Not sure how much time he needs to get started.

The Angels are picking the absolute worst time to play their worst baseball of the season. They absolutely threw away the first two games (literally in Game 2) and now they're running into outs?

And the frightening thing is, the Yankees aren't even playing at their best yet. Or, maybe they are and the Angels just aren't showing up.

whatever Yankee hater or aka Red Sox fan.

anyway, yes the Angels made 2 big errors in Game 1 but still CC had that win 2-1.

and Game 2, Arod hits a very clutch homer to tie it in the 11th and that game was very even.

Strange pitcher management by Girardi. Why take Robertson out after two batters?

And Brad Lidge gets the win. Great Dodgers bullpen? Don't think so.

No shit. :funny:

And shouldn't you be more focused on the Dodgers right now and how they're in real danger of throwing away a great regular season?

True. That doesn't mean they still didn't play like shit though. And in a 2-1, their strategy would've changed compared to the strategy used in a 4-1 game. I could be wrong, but I don't remember the Angels playing a lot of small ball in Game 1. You can afford to bunt when you're only down by a run. In a three run game from the seventh inning on? Not so much.

Yes. That was my point. The Angels threw away the game (in one sense) when they could've won it in the 11th. And then they literally threw it away in the 13th. The game was so even that it took an error to end it. Maybe if Izturis plays it cleanly (and correctly) they still lose with the next batter, but maybe not.

No, they'd love a Yankees/Dodgers series more.

You've got the history going all the way back to the Brooklyn days, you've got the Torre versus his old team plotline, and strictly from a television standpoint Fox would get got the two biggest television markets in Los Angeles and New York going head to head in the World Series. They'd get the biggest World Series ratings in years.

That's not looking likely now though. It could still happen, but it's not likely.

There we go. That's the way to do it. Vladdy comes through...finally. But Kendrick, wow!!! If the Angels win this series, he will definetely be the series MVP, as he was the hero of the day.

Yeah, I am now thinking that extra innings in two games is not in the Yankees favor, as they have to go to a different person everytime, while the Angels can stick with Santana or even Palmer (who are both starters). The bullpens tomorrow may spell trouble for the Yanks if CC does not go through.

plus unless CC has a bad game which he hasn't in months I think, he usually is gold for 7/8 innings.

On Dodgers & Torre, not happy with alot of his moves. Yes he was fine for the first 100 games when everything was fine and he had nothing to do. But now with the games on the line, I don't understand some of his line-up changes and use of relievers.

Any real Yankee fans here with an opinion on Torre. Now I know Torre won 4 WS but that was in the 90's when Cone, Jeter, Others were young and super. But Torre now has lost in like 8 going on 9 playoffs in a row. Including blowing some big ones like 2001 Arizona and 2004 Red Sox years. And now for the second straight year, he is clueless on how to handle the Phillies.
