 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Kobe plays less than 30 minutes and doesn't even go in for the 4th quarter. Wow, if they continue at this pace he's going to be very well rested come playoff time.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
The good: Bargnani can even guard SFs as good as Melo. And I think he set up deep low post position for the first time in his life. The bad: Jose and Bosh can't guard anyone. Ever. I loved how we called a timeout with 16 seconds left in the half and the play we ran was a pick and roll with Kapono and Graham. great job Sam.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Lakers won't get close to the Bulls record if they play defense like this. You need that constant every night.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
The rollercoaster season for Rockets continues with now T-Mac out for 3 weeks.
What's up with Pacers? They beat Lakers, Celtics, and Rockets, but 4-10 against everybody else.
And Spurs have better record with Timmy alone than having all three of their big guns.

Go Nuggets! Beat the Spurs! Stupid Spurs ... o how I loathe thee! (of course if Ginobli has a huge game while everyone else does horrible, that's perfectly fine).

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Suns have lost all their games since Amare's whining (4 in a row). I really think this is the odd man out in the West, they're crumbling.
Meanwhile I think the Mavs will be elite again once Howard comes back. 9-1 over their last ten with that loss being to LA, and they had a double digit lead they just couldn't hold. They're pretty much the finals and 67 win team with Jason Kidd. If they can get past their chokeness they could still win this year.
It's funny to see Suns-Mavs-Spurs with the 7-9 "battling for a playoff" spot records.. Think Mavs and Spurs will be up there and safe by next month, but yea, it'll only be a few more years for these guys

Amare is probably the only player on the Suns who isn't playing his heart out.
There is NO reason he should have less than 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. NO REASON.

Is Portland usually this inept at defending the fast break?

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Yeah, but only against teams that play hard physical defense. Defense gives those fastbreaks.
Well, that was a disheartening lost, but we're still 2nd in the West. It's at least comforting to know that our worst two losses came from the top two teams.

Finally caught a Rockets game on TV. Love what I saw from Yao in the fourth quarter, assertive, smart, and totally dominant. Just need to be consistent.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Calderon has to be putting up the most invisible high assist games I've ever seen. Half of them are just giving it to Bosh and letting him shoot + league worst defence at that position and no offense of his own, and I've been damn disappointed this year by him. I'd think about taking Kirk Hinrich over him at this point, defensively he makes up what he gives up on offense, and I think the Chicago mess has devalued him.

Wow, that Dallas-Atlanta game was awesome! Bibby and Terry were nuts. I'm on the Mavs bandwagon this year in terms of the contenders. They're like the lonely kicked dog I want to finally come back and claim victory.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
Toronto scared me for a second there. JO just kept banging and banging at our bigs, and his defense on Oden was great (the man was 3 for friggin' 10). Blake and offensive boards were definitely the difference, though. And Aldridge outplays Bosh. What a gane,
It's rather confusing why Toronto can't grab a rebound to save their lives when they have 3 7 footers on their starting line-up.
4-1 in this road trip and second in the west once again. We go home for one game and then play more road games. God, the schedule hates us.

 Re: NBA 2008-2009 season
I don't like Bosh this year... totally coasting on defence (was already average before, now he's among the league's worst for bigs) and all our intangibles, doesn't pass out of doubles or make his teammates better at all, sort of selfish attitude, making dumb plays like taking 3s every game or doing fadeaways on Steve Blake and then the wtf? at the end today. Definitely starting to be reminiscent of the Carter thing. I don't even know if I want to resign him for 2010 in this point, he doesn't belong in the same sentence as KG/Duncan/Howard because he doesn't play d or pass, more like the big man version of Arenas or Redd... I'd rather not pay like 22 mil a year to that.
